This might be good during the summer but during the winter it is a waste of time and money. They only run every 60 minutes. So if you finish early somewhere then you sit around. We finished at one stop in 15 minutes but had to wait 45 minutes. Plus it is a really short schedule. 10 - 3 pm.... More

Having done the hop on, hop off tours in other cities on my Australia-New Zealand holiday, this one was not very interesting. I would suggest changing the route to see less but allow for a couple of 10 minute stops to enjoy the view. For $90 I could have hired an Uber driver to take me to a few sights... More

What a great way to see the major sights of Auckland in a short time. You can use both the red and blue bus as they have a common interchange with no waiting. There is a commentary and also a written copy allowing you to plan where you want to get off. We spent time in Parnell which offered many... More

It might be better during summer. The winter hours are pretty short (10am to 3pm). You will not get to see the majority of the sights because of the short winter schedule and they runs hourly. I think this hop on, hop off might be better if they had frequent departure/schedule. It takes one hour to get on another bus... More

We've done the hop on hop off tours in san francisco and new york, so we thought it would be good. Well, it was disappointing. The commentary lacked a bit, even to the point where the driver told us about stray cats....what the!!?? Sure you get a tour of Auckland and there is some nice scenery but.... The stops are... More

I decided to opt for the hop-on hop-off explorer as going to get a travel card on a three day trip sounded silly. I didn't mind paying the rather expensive ticket price since I preferred the ease of paying cash on entering, and that I could ride about on the bus as long as I liked. The nearest stop was... More

Didn't start until 10, which even the guy selling tickets (at 8:55) didn't know! Then hourly schedule until 3pm, 2 hours across two routes. Think about it ... basically means you can hop off once the whole day otherwise you'll get stuck somewhere Great route and excellent things to see but defeats the real purpose and you'll have to see... Very good tour, would recommend starting early as there is lots to discover and visit, particularly liked the Aquarium. Climbed up their highest point, great views of the city, the museum at the transfer site is worth a visit and all these mean you need an early start. Good way to get to know the city.

We've been on a few of these Hop on Hop off buses but this one was a little different. There are 2 circuits, a red and blue circle. The bus comes every half hour in the Red Circle and only hourly in the Blue circle. There were some nice places that I wanted to get off at, in the Blue... More

I'm a great fan of hop on hop off buses and have used many around the world. The Auckland bus proved a great way to get my bearings at the start of my stay. My only criticisms would be that just over $40 for a one day pass is a bit on the expensive side and also the commentary was... More
