The gateway to the rainforest. There is a small museum and gift shop and a self guided rainforest walk to take on your own. Great views from the main building.

We went there with the kids and we just love the view and a bit of a hike... It was a bit foggy... for sure the scene would be more wonderful with clear blue skies.

Well worth the visit. A very interesting visitors centre with viewing platforms. Just outside the main entrance ti the right is a small track that takes you to another viewing area and the start of the Sir Hilary Track.

Almost one hundred different tracks. Waterfalls, huge Kauri, coastal views etc. Start your visit at the aratake centre 5-10mins from Titirangi village. Now closed due to local iwi rahui. Kauri Dieback. Please stay away until further notice.

It's great anytime of year. Nice and cool in summer and in the wet weather the bush gives off a really special aroma. But have waterproof jackets and good walking shoes, because you will get everytning wet
