Although the 'one tree' was cut down as a protest a while ago, it was actually still standing when I visited previously in 2000. A Maori landmark and sacred site, this is still worth the walk just for the experience and to pay respects to the culture.

It's a wonderful, short hike to get to the top. It's really cool to see the craters from former volcanoes on the walk up. The view of surround Auckland was great for the short walk. However, it was EXTREMELY windy when we went, and as someone who is uncomfortable with heights, it made me very nervous.

Really beautiful places! If u travel to Auckland, then u should go to this hill. I haven't seen such sceneries before, amazing. It' free and if u don't want to walk for a long time you can drive there, but if u wanna do some exercises, u can go there on foot

Some nutter cut the one tree down in protest a while back ..so it's no tree hill now , but the views are outstanding, the monument is impressive and you pay your respect to the aboriginal culture ..a "must do " on any Auckland trip

There are good views from the top, but it can get a little crowded, and I must admit I was a little disappointed to see that there is no longer a tree on top of One Tree Hill due to vandalism.

Well worth a visit here if you have time. I am unaware of any buses that go here so you will need to find your own way.

Panamamic views over Auckland. Well worth a visit. Easier by car or taxi. But for those of you who are fit, it's a good run or hike.

A trick for those who aren't local: there is no tree on one tree hill (it had to be removed some years ago). Still a great place to visit for the views of Auckland and the harbour. If you like symmetry and neat gardens, this is a great place to go to keep your eyes happy. Recommended for graduation /... More
