Car parking is half way up mount. Can't remember if it was free. Quite a energetic walk to summit. However once you get there the views of the area are stunning.

We picked up our hire car from not far from here so decided to drive up and walk the rest. Car park was free and not too much of a walk to the peak. The views are amazing. Suspect in the summer a perfect sunset...More

We came to check out the view, and it didn't disappoint. The idiots who ignored the signs saying not to enter the crater (this sacred land is fragile) were a major blight on our visit. It would have been good to know in advance that...More

I found the crater astonishing, and the views are really spectacular. Parking is limited and a bit of walking is required

We decided to walk to Mt Eden from our hotel which was about 5 km away...IT was well worth the effort...Nice views from up top and a small park on the bottom which has a small zip line you can jump on

A short hike up from the car park as we take in the view of the whole of Auckland. Definitely a good place to visit while breathing in fresh air and admiring the crater left behind by the volcanic eruption ages ago.

Must-do if you're in Auckland. It's a bit of a walk, but it's such a beautiful view of Mt Eden and of the city. Good at any time of the day!

Be aware that Mt Eden is not part of Cornwall Park. Cornwall Park surrounds its own volcanic cone called One Tree Hill (this is THE One Tree Hill of the famous U2 song). It has an excellent view just like Mt Eden.
