An excellent outlook over the city

We walked to the summit, it is a steep walk requiring a basic level of fitness. The walk is well worth it - enjoy the surrounds and the view!

If your looking for another way to see the lights of Auckland city, then look no further, the gates are closed to vehicles but put on your shoes and use your phone light especially around the crater. Its a great walk and when you get to the top the view is well worth it!!

Steep but short walk up to the top and well worth it. Huge crator at the top and some wonderful views of the surrounding city. One of those must do attractions, so easy with the Hop On Hop Off tour.

Eden is just 10 mins away from the city. However, you need to drive up the mountain and there are some parking. After that, some walk is needed to the crater. It is a good place for photo taking with the Sky Tower and the city view, which is stunning!

Save some money and forego the Sky Tower, the summit provides an amazing 360 degree view of Auckland. Not sure of the parking situation as I was staying within walking distance. It's not too steep a climb, but be prepared for the calves to have a work out!

A great place to get 360 degree views of Auckland. The crater here is also a very interesting thing to see. It's a bit of a hike up but you can essentially drive to the car park, meaning a 10 minute walk at most. Do bring an umbrella - there's no cover up there.

I visited the Mount Eden summit couple times. The first one was in 2014 which still allowed by driving to the summit. In 2015 I ran through the Mt. Eden track and in 2016 I hiked to the top. You should know that the height of this summit approximately as high as the Sky Tower of Auckland, around 200 metres.... More

One use to be able to drive up the top of this volcano with an awesome view of Auckland. Apparently because of the wear and tear of the area one now cannot drive to the car park. You park further down and must walk up. Never leave valuables in your car 🚗. Best view is One Tree Hill. You can... More

Good for an hours activity. Walked up and enjoyed a picnic with the views. Is a big walk back to the city so be prepared or take a bus or taxi back

A beautiful place to watch the sunset and see the city skyline. Easily accessible and tours daily but unnecessary really. If in Auckland definitely a site to visit!
