It is a nice place for every moment: watch the sunset, have tasty meals, drink all types of beverages, and also take the ferry to other places such as the Waiheke Island.

Whilst more broadly Auckland's vibe can feel a little dated, the Viaduct precinct is a trendy and vibrant exception. Many quality food and drink options for all budgets, all with great views and a modern vibe. I have walked the walk so many times, the boats in the harbour are amazing and the place throbs with life. Many restaurants and bars to choose from. The ferrys depart from here of course and the best day trip is to Waiheke Island ,but for a shorter trip across to Davenport is nice and again places to eat and visit.

Nice place to wander, relax at a cafe or bar, look at boats, watch the car ferry come and go, walk along quay street to the Maritime museum or walk around the corner to Tepid baths for a swim.at a great pool

Not as dramatic as Sydney, but you should find time to walk around the harbour. Well maintained and nicely developed (a work in progress still). Plenty of places to take a coffee or beer, but you will pay a premium (what did you expect?) If you are lucky you can see the small bridge opened to let out taller vessels.

Quiet yet lively and lovely. Nice for a morning jog, cup of coffee and a good dinner at night. Let's say an early dinner since the restaurants there mostly close by 8-9pm. Which is a bummer. Love it!
