Viaduct harbour is bejeweled with every type of pleasure craft known to mankind. Yachts from every size including modern super yachts and the America's cup challenge yachts. Charters for yacting and fishing leave here on a daily basis. Great history of the 1988 challenge is covered here and one of the photos is of the carbon fibre yacht built to... More

If you're a boat person you have to visit here. Walk to the very end of the boardwalk and on the way view the Americas Cup yachts, fishing trawlers and the multimillion dollar superyacht right at the end. Lots of eateries and a nice playground near the silos.

Lots of lovely boats to look at, some really pretty tree lined streets but there's a flurry of construction activity so it's quite noisy. Nice to walk around in the sunshine though

The Viaduct area is a lovely place! The views across the yachts to the city skyline is really great. This is a place where couples walk hand-in-hand, where children relax, and where families and friends can walk outdoors and away from the traffic. Young children, and others, will enjoy watching the draw bridge lift up to allow boats to pass... More

Visited Thursday 15th September. Even thought it was cold and wet it was still worth having a look at Viaduct Harbour. I would imagine on a fine day or on the weekend this place would be packed with people enjoying themselves at various restaurants and bars, or just simply going for a stroll.

Started our morning with walking along the harbour /port to the viaduct in a good weather. Nice view and watching New Zealanders morning activities at the ferry place, continued to the viaduct to have a relax brunch then wrapped the day up by joining the Dolphin Safari.

We had an enjoyable visit here in September. The views are lovely, and there are plenty of restaurants to eat at, catering to many different needs. The ferries leave a short few minutes walk from here, and the maritime museum is also located in this spot. A nice place to visit.

I always visit the viaduct when I visit Auckland such a lovely place to be near the ocean. Not many cities have the luxury of a place like the Viaduct so close their CBD. Highly recommend visiting the Viaduct if you are in Auckland.
