Interesting street with a mix of high end shops and eateries. Certainly some truth in the PonSnobby label it attracts but worth a visit if you have time to kill.

Unless you are really in to food and clothes, it is just a nice and long walk down ponsonby road and K road back into town. There used to be more interesting second hand furniture and collectables, but I think they must be being priced out.

If you are up for a walk and people watching, then you need to stroll around the Ponsonby area. It is a quaint shopping area with unique boutiques, restaurants encompassing a range of cuisines as well as offbeat book stores, card shops and curio shops. But a word of advice - try not to take the attitude seriously. Some of... More

If you have more than one day in Auckland, and have had enough of site-seeing, pop to Ponsonby road. Very easy to reach from down town Auckland on the Link circular bus. The best food in Auckland, from smart street style food in Ponsonby Central to more up-market eateries, it has something for everyone. The shopping is the best in... More

Ponsonby is the place to be! Ponsonby Rd has nearly anything you could ask for. Saturday's in Ponsonby have to be the lifeblood of Auckland. Every business and street had scores of people on it! Looking for a place to stay/eat, Ponsonby should be your destination!

Ponsonby was recommended by our hotel for a few hours. It is an upmarket suburb of Auckland with nice houses and some very good restaurants and cafes. There is a sort of a market establishment as well which mainly sells designer labels, well worth it for a few hours.

Ponsonby Road is a treasure trove for locals and tourists alike. A very popular shopping and dining destination that is studded with top New Zealand Designer shops, cafes and restaurants. There are also some accomodation options which mean walking is easy and if you want to hit the city there's a great bus system that can be accessed easily. This... More
