I walked around the village. Picturesque village, wharf and lots of places to eat. You can buy tickets to sail on the America's cup style boat.

The Americas cup village is great
Many great cafes and restaurants
Great Place to watch the Americas cup on the big screen
Or even better get on one of the spectator boats and head out for the course for a great day on the water
excellent vibe happening

Although the whole of Auckland is a nightmare with building works it is well worth making your way down to this area. The boats are amazing.

If you're a boatie and looking for somewhere to meander around on the weekend or visiting Auckland this is a great option. Close to lots of eating places and reasonable parking and transport facilities.

We live in St Heliers and have a delightful beach front, but it cannot compare with the Wynyard Quarter and America Cup Village where Hip meets Hop and sunshine makes the place absolutely magical. So, when we want to pick ourselves up, we head off to the America Cup village and water front for a bit of that "Anytime magic".
The food on offer, the bars, the random and meandering walk about and the tram ride if you have kids in tow ....... all serve up an awesome experience.
If you are lucky, a billionaire's super yacht will be docked and you will wonder "What if that was mine". So go down to the America's Cup Village and take your family and friends. You cannot do better.

A friend and I went on two Americas Cup ships. It was a match race. Everyone was invited to help, which of course I did. "Grinding" is hard work and we were very hungry after. Hard decision which restaurant to choose. There were many. We ate outside, the weather was so beautiful. We also found a grocery nearby that sold wine and things for breakfast.

Heard this was specifically built as an athletes village for the participants in the Americans cup and it costs millions. From what I see the ones on the ground/ first level can hardly have privacy with all the big windows in the living room, but they definitely are enjoying a spectacular view!

The smell of seafood, the tingling sounds of sail rigging, the motion of the port surf and yes people-lots of them marveling at the beauty of New Zealand. They will not have far to travel down to the South island to have beauty and Solitude.
leisure walk time, sign up for bay sails, great variety of eats- a 5 sense experience. No trouble spending the better part of a day right here !
