This is the main formal city park. It has a lot of trees, some open spaces, duck pond, statues, fountains, a museum on top of the hill and a tropical garden inside a greenhouse. It looks like it hasn't changed much in 100 years. I guess it's a good thing. Also, it's located on a hill, so while the trees... More

Auckland is blessed with this wonderful green space near the centre of our city. It has something for everyone - a fine series of tracks leading down from the duck pond to Stanley St, or the Ho Chi Minh trail from Domain Dr down to the Parnell railway station. For those wanting more level walks the paths around the duck... More

A wonderful park for wandering and wondering. Beautiful grounds and garden plots, lovely bandstand, well maintained paths. Perfect for a sunny afternoon.

This is by far a huge park, with so much to do and see for the kids or adults. Walks, ponds ducks etc. Museum as well. 75acres I think. Very picturesque. Great for a picnic. You will just sit back relax and enjoy the space.

Go for a wonder and just enjoy the spaces. If it's a beautiful day, take a blanket and book, find a tree and just relax. Or take a picnic and enjoy it with people of any age. The Museum is right there so take the opportunity to visit it as well.

A delightful Park that offers so much variety . Walking the dog ; jogging ; sitting on the grass enjoying a picnic ; appreciating the formal gardens or the more natural beauty of the Lower Domain ; exploring Lovers' Walk or the Fernery ; being chased by the geese ; viewing the varied statuary ; or merely strolling between the... A lovely park of wide winding pathways, suitable for leisurely strolls or easy jogs. Often you'll see bootcamp groups or soccer teams competing - a great motivator for getting in shape.

We arrived late in the day but we're glad we decided to fit the Domain into out itinerary. A beautiful peaceful area, particularly the duck pond area which has a pleasant path leading around it. The views from the Museum steps are great.

I live nearby this wonderful area and take advantage of its beauty as much as possible. It is uniquely shaped like a heart with trails, sidewalk, and field to wander through. The Auckland Museum, Winter Gardens and cafe are also located within the Domain. Summer jazz festivals, Anzac Day services, Fire Festival, fireworks shows and literally so much more! Please... More
