We took friends from overseas and we're thrilled with their reaction but equally very proud of how beautiful and world class our museum looked. Even as a adult its great that so many of the exhibition were hands on.

Statuesque against the auckland skyline. Filled with wonderful bits and pieces from times gone by. Go sit in the earth quake house for fun. Its great to take the kids on a rainy day. Its not a London museum but its great.

So pleased that the Museum has kept the childrens area. Amazed that entry was free and the parking wasnt too bad for central Auckland

The museum is in a great location for some good views. It provides an insight into the history, culture & wildlife of New Zealand. We were on a bus trip, so couldn't stay long, but certainly worth the stop. Recommend checking out the gift shop for some great souvenirs versus gift shops downtown.

A really interesting museum but quite prices to get in. Cafe was over priced. The Maori experience was very interesting

Very impressed by the whole experience I'm not keen on the oversized, displaced basket ball that's been dropped on the rear of the museum in the form of Architecture but the rest of the museum is beautiful and full of great attractions

Went to see the Auckland Museum on rainy day. We are glad we did . It provided very interesting information about New Zealand ' s involvement in both world wars as well as an in depth overview of the Maori culture. We were on the 100th anniversary of New Zealand ' s entry into WW1. It was very moving. We... More

You will find a good collection to understand the Maori culture and the volcano history to New Zealand. You can skip the cultural performance, is not worthwhile.

The exhibits were wonderful, very informative and varied. Enjoyed the digital stories on screens and displays. Just disappointed that some were so dimly lit that it was hard to read the information.
