The penguins exhibit was fantastic. The giant squid was educational. It was wonderful to know that the Merlin Pass from Sydney was also valid in Aukland!! And it was opened on Christmas day!!

Thanks for giving us your feedback, we're glad you enjoyed your visit and made the most of your Merlin Annual Pass :). Kelly Tarlton's is open 365 days and year, and enjoys a busy Christmas Day every year - we would hate for the penguins to miss out on Santa! We hope to see you again one day. More

Thanks so much for giving us your feedback, we're glad you enjoyed your visit. The view of sharks and other amazing marine life swimming above you was Kelly Tarlton's vision, and our aquarium was the first place in the world to showcase this. We park the bus by the entrance to give our guests the most amount of shelter possible,... More

I've been to Kelly Tarlton's a number of times in the past, with kids and have previously found it to be a wonderful experience but my most recent visit with husband and two well behaved 6 year olds and a 2 year old was a disaster due to an appalling level of overcrowding. Admittedly it was on public holiday but... More

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry you didn't enjoy your visit. Unfortunately visitor numbers were at unexpectedly high levels in the first days of 2016 (in fact we had the busiest day in our 31 year history), so we can entirely appreciate the impact it would have had on your visit. For people who prefer to visit at quieter... More

The place is interesting to go and see once, more than once kids knew about each section so we managed to spend 1 hour to cover all sections. Had to go twice to make it worth the money spent to get in.

Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback. It's great that your children remember the aquarium from their past visits, we would encourage people to attend our free animal feeds and talks so they learn something new every time :). We hope to see you again soon. More

On the whole if was a nice aquarium i just don't think it was what we thought it was going to be. We decided to go because it was raining and both my partner and have a mutual love for the sea. We had an ok time but did walk away wondering exactly what the experience was that we paid... More

Thanks so much for taking the time to give us your feedback. We're sorry if the aquarium wasn't quite what you were expecting - we do aim, through the use of our animal feeds and talks, our display information, not to mention our animals themselves of course, to appeal a wide age range. We hope to see you again one... More

We purchased our tickets inline and saved 20% on the price for a family. Also on arrival we went straight past the crowds of people lined up to gain entry. The exhibits were great and we spent 1:45 looking around the place. Photo packs were quite reasonable if you didnt get the cover lo. $35 for all of the photos... More

Run down, old fashioned, exhibits not particularly exciting or varied.. Wondering if it's cruel to keep penguins indoors even though their habitat is replicated. They can't see the sky, but they seemed happy enough. The ticket was pricey so I expected better facilities, and a better experience. For the quality of the experience $20 would have been more reasonable not... More

Let's start with the good. The stingrays, sharks, seahorses etc all look amazing and seem well cared for. The penguins are good fun too. However for an attraction that aimed young families, it feels this place isn't keeping up with the level of service worth the ticket price. Some extra staff during the summer holidays influx would be welcome. For... More

15 minutes trying to find a parking, 30-40 minutes in line with a toodler waiting to pay, very cramped inside, everybody was sweating due to no aircon❗️cafe had a long waiting line, and not much variety, very small seating area, we had to stand and eat ❗️ Took 20 minutes to see all the sea life animals and we were... We really liked the penguins, a real treat. Felt like there was something for all of us, even the adults. We went there in the late afternoon so it was not so crowded, perfect!
