- Rick PAdelaide, Australia40 contributionsSky Tower has serious pulling power. There's no doubt that you can't go to Auckland and miss seeing the Sky Tower. We went up to the 50th floor and then went down a floor to have a cheese plate and a drink. The view was exceptional and it was nice to look over to Rangitoto and Waiheke Island. A very impressive structure and a great addition to the city skyline.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 17, 2023
- Bruce WilliamsBrisbane, Australia198 contributionsGreat experience and viewsWe visited here as it was included in our hop on hop off bus tour ticket and neither of us had been before. There are also adventure activities here, bungy, and outside walking, that we did not do, but others were participating. The 360 degree views were marvellous as we had a very clear day.Kia ora Bulgey Thank you so much for sharing such a lovely review of your recent visit. Here at the Sky Tower, we strive to provide our guests with not only the most exceptional service, but also options as to experience the views at your own pace. For those more daring we have the challenges of the SKYWALK & SKYJUMP which I am thrilled you have suggested, or the more relaxed and mellow enjoyment of overlooking the city while enjoying a delicious coffee or cocktail. I do hope that you took great advantage of all that we have to offer, and we hope that we can welcome you back in the near future. - Kathryn6163 contributionsWorth the expense for the viewsCouldn’t get a reservation at the revolving restaurant so settled for the Sky Bar . Still got the amazing views . Drinks were expensive & the food menu very limited but we enjoyed the experience. We qualified for a discount on admission to the Observation Deck . Just $10 rather than $42Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 19, 2024
- Lisa TChampaign, Illinois25 contributionsThe views are amazing! The Sky Tower was a great time! We did the Level 60 sky deck, the Level 51 main observation level and the Sky Slide (closed earlier than the other things, so check times if you go). It was too windy for jumpers, so we missed that part of the experience. It was lovely to see the city from above! It was a little crowded in the tower, but I'm guessing it's that way most of the time! The Sky Tower is also lit up at night on the outside and it is beautiful!Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 3, 2024
- need2trvlMiamisburg, Ohio843 contributionsGo at Sunset, make a Reservation at Skybar. We went to the Skybar during sunset. Got to enjoy the day and night views. You Must make a reservation or you will not get to the Skybar. It gets crowded at night with lots of young people. We met friends there and had several drinks. Food or dessert did not look interesting. Ladies had the champagne and gents drinks. Expensive, but worth it. We had great seats but I really appreciate the staff not pushing us out after an hour and a half. Also, enjoyed the atmosphere outside the sky Tower during Chinese New Year's. It's a bit confusing where to go. There is a private entrance and elevator to the Skybar. Kudos to Management at the Skybar. There was a very inebriated young lady who came to the bar. Happy to see management would not serve her or her party. They asked her to leave. Considering the shape she was in, great call.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 8, 2024

The ride up in the elevator is exciting, and when you get to the viewing gallery then all the views are simply stunning. On the day of our visit the visibility was great so we were able to see across the whole of the Auckland area.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten March 12, 2024

- Anonymous8551,799 contributionsHigh tea in the Sky Bar was fantastic! We were delighted with the afternoon tea that included the viewing deck admission and a wonderful experience. Our table was prepaid and reserved in an optimal window location. I am not able to eat fish and they do not make substitutions on the set menu so I ordered the vegetarian option and it was delightful. The entire staff explains your tea, your food items and cannot help you enough. I would recommend this to everyone except young children.Kia ora Anonymous855 We are pleased to read such a wonderful review of your recent experience here with us and the SkyBar. Such a pleasure to have not only enjoyed the spoils of our stunning views but also to have experienced the delicious High Tea option at SkyBar. Although they do not serve as cultural or historical landmarks, they play a significant role in telecommunications and technology for New Zealanders. The towers are not only a symbol of modern innovation but also offer breathtaking views of the city and its surroundings. For the adventure community, the Sky Tower has become a unique focal point, serving as a giant compass that guides both locals and visitors in exploring the vibrant cityscape. Amazing sights. Elevators move like warp speed. If you're 55 or older make sure you ask for "senior" rate because they don't advertise it. On one level they televise a live feed of anybody doing the bungee jump. Entrance to tower not easy to find without asking. You have to take escalator down to below ground level then follow arrows on floor to sky tower. Funny to watch people afraid to get too close to edge and especially to stand on glass in floor with view to bottome of tower.

Lovely sunsets as the kitch to wind around the tower wanes after 20 min. The prefixe meal was spendy at 90 bucks, but polished service and great food was the real treat here. Salmon was perfect, and desserts especially delicious with the sorbets of fruits shining brightly. I’ll be back next year with my America’s Cup gaggle.. thanks Sky Tower.

Went for an impromptu trip with my sister to the sky tower.
Was a memorable visit. On a normal admission you get access to the two main decks. The first one is great and more spacious... and the top one gives better views of the city. We went through the day but I bet the night time visit will be absolutely stunning. You can also get some good family shots in as well so recommend to take your camera.
There is a cafe in between the two decks that is very convenient as it well if you are feeling a bit peckish.
When we first arrived the staffer at the counter couldn’t recognise our booking via Trip Advisor so that was a bit of a hassle but after 15 minutes we were sorted and ready to go.
Other staff members were very friendly and helpful.
Would highly recommend if you are in Auckland for a day or just passing by. :)

Hi BrendaL2842,
Thank you so much for sharing your experience about Sky Tower on Trip Advisor.
My Apologies about confusion at the ticketing counter but happy to hear about your great experience which is very well described on your feedback.
I am glad to know that you had great time with your sister up at the Sky Tower. Yes day time and night both having completely different beauty can not be compared until and unless you experience both.
Looking forward to welcome you again to enjoy night visit too.
Kind Regards,

This is a great place to view the city during the day and at night. I would recommend getting there a
Early or go late afternoon as it got really busy just after 10 in the morning. You can also do the sky walk or sky jump - I did the sky walk and it was well worth it and I’m not great at heights

Brought an American friend living in Auckland to visit the tower after we had done the same in early Match with an overseas friend. In both occasions, we had wonderful views of Auckland from the tower. The various parts of Auckland are well marked, so that you know what you are looking at and we were delighted to recognise some well known icons. The highlight of the visit was seeing a bungy jumper launch from the top of the tower and while none of us were keen to try it, we lived the moment vicariously. We have previously been tothe restaurant at the top, but did not do so on this occasion, although I do believe that for a minimum spend, one can visit both the restaurant and the tower, at no extra cost. It is worth once you have tried walking in the glass panels many feet above the ground (!) and orientated yourself as to where everything is, going up in the lift to the top floor, as views are better for photos.

Hi CollRr,
Thank you so much for sharing your review and giving 5/5 rating on trip advisor really appreciated.
We are glad to know that you visited couple of times with your friends and had really wonderful view of Auckland and surroundings. Walking on the glass floor is really interesting and while on tower if you see jumpers that's bonus too.
Really looking forward to welcome you again in future.

We went to the sky tower last week as we have been meaning to for a while. When we got there the sky deck was closed due to COVID which disappointed us however , the manager took us up herself and showed us around which was great and we really appreciated it. The view was spectacular and every staff member from the security outside the building to the cafe staff were super friendly . My only complaint is that it is a little pricey for what you get and drinks at the top are also a little expensive for a budget traveller. I would recommend getting an annual pass for $60 as if you go twice, you get your monies worth . They also offer a fantastic yoga class on Wednesday and Thursday mornings which is only $20 at the minute which is a bargain.

The SkyTower is a stunning attraction in Auckland. The process to get the tickets if you haven't bought them online already is slick. Staff helpful to get you to the viewing platform, loads of space to move around and see the incredible sights of the harbour and the city.
Photo opportunities for a general photo and a posed 'extreme selfie' if you want. For an extra fee its possible to have a type of bungee jump. There is a cafe/ restaurant, it's open until late, so seeing the night skyline is brilliant.

Enjoyed dinner at the top. Good selection of entrees, mains and desserts When I elected to go the whole hog and have one of each they offered a set $85 "three course" price, which was impressive.
Food was hot, but the waiter's end of meal push for a tip left me a bit flat. I was already expecting to leave a tip, but to be not so blatantly asked to leave a tip was unexpected and unimpressive.

Going up costs $30 per person. Going up is free with dinner which ranges $40-50 NZD per person. Food and service are excellent which is a cost effective option we recommend. You also get 45 minutes to view the city plus another hour or so for dinner.

We purchased a combo ticket with the hop on hop off bus and with the pre-purchased tickets were able to skip the queue line.
The views from the tower were great.
we had a snack at the cafe and that was good also ( you need to order at the register and it will be brought to the table- we sat for a while waiting for a server and it doesnt work that way)
The Skydeck requires a 2nd elevator and the views are not that much better than those on the main observation deck.

Are the tickets time specific or is the purchased ticket for anytime on the needed reservation date? Also does the HopOn/off have a stop near the Sky Tower??
Written October 25, 2023
You can go anytime on the purchased date if you’re going onto both the general viewing decks.
If you’re buying tickets for the activities then you have a time bound booking.
It should tell you when you book
If you are staying at one of the Skycity hotels there are discounts for the tower
