Thanks so much for your visit and kind words. .You're obviously a wood lover ... and you're right, NZ wood is unusually rich in character and skillfully finished by our craftspeople. For the benefit of others, we generally say that we sell anything that is...More

Other than all the rip-off stores in the CBD, the Elephant House has actual stuff that will survive the journey, stuff that is the real thing and not the "made in China" copy. If you are looking for NZ souvenirs, be it the Kauri table...More

We love that you noticed that the arts and crafts we sell are made here in NZ and not some anonymous mass produced warehouse. Thank you for taking the time to visit, and browse!

Our first visit was from locals' advice! Clever, unique, N.Z. high quality crafts~~At very reasonable prices, especially for the QUALITY. We have shopped all over the world, and this store is just plain great. Don't overlook it in Auckland.

New Zealand 17D Advice! (6 Replies)
Dear all, I am taking a family of 7 + 1 child to New Zealand this September. Here's my trip itinerary which I hope to get some advice on. We hope this tour to be quite relaxing in terms of pace, and also if there is any stops in between that we could get good food/salmons or any local delights to fill our stomach. We did Tasmania last year, and found Melita Honey Farm and into 41 Degree Smoked Salmon to be worthwhile stops, we thought it will be nice if we can get a similar experience in...More

Hi Rick, You itinerary looks exhausting. Doubtful if your family group could even complete half the activities listed. And to drive as well from A to B as well? I recommend you slow down, remove the activities places that least interest the majority of your group. Consider safety, welfare, and the pleasure of travel as your main priorities As you said, you wish for this trip to be undertaken at a relaxing pace. Day 1. arrive NZ - settle into accommodation, take a gentle stroll around...More
