Get out of the city center and head with bus #299 on K. Road and head to the Wallace for an afternoon of Kiwi art, history and a bite to eat. It's FREE! The park surrounding the center is lovely and the house has a rich history. It is a lovely excursion out of the city proper. the gift shop... More

We had a lovely lunch from the menu, with prompt service and reasonably priced. The art is rather avant guard, but housed in a beautiful historic house, so worth wandering through just for the architecture. The grounds of the house are expansive and we'll worth a wander. There is a good sized car park with large grassed areas for kids... More

It's not in the centre of Auckland but it is worth an hour or two of your time if you are interested in history, architecture, landscaped gardens or modern painting, photography and sculpting. Huge ancient trees, rolling lawns, a splendid old mansion were for us the main attraction. About ten rooms and corridors are devoted to paintings and photography, with... More

I shared lunch today here with a friend. Parking is easy and there is a relaxed charm about this place which is not easy to find in a city. Our lunch consisted of two sandwiches on a type of Turkish bread which were toasted for us. When the cafe worker brought them to our table, they looked quite unmanageable for... More

The Monte Cecelia Park and historical Pah Homestead is still a much underused area of Auckland, housing the TSB Bank Wallace Arts Centre and Pah Café. This tourist gem is closed each Monday and unfortunately this also applies to Public holidays such as the recent Christmas/New Year period. Last visit to the café was in the early afternoon in August... More

Lovely old house filled with changing exhibitions. Bound to make you think. Enjoy coffee or a meal in the garden. Shop is well stocked with well priced pieces of art. Met Rebecca Heap, glass blower who shared her passion for glass blowing in an informative, and fun way. Always something going on here. beautiful bathrooms too.

A mildly interesting old homestead with excellent parking, nice grounds, good cafe food, and, for the main attraction, variable and varying Art Exhibitions ranging from the excellent to the modern idiosyncratic. A good place to meet and linger.

Great food at the cafe and some of NZ's best art on display = what more do you want? Oh Yes - an amazing old house to explore and gorgeous gardens full of historic trees. Definitely worth a visit or two.

This is a great place for a leisurely visit for both it's Art Works and Café - we've been here a few times and have always found it a pleasant way to while away an afternoon.
