Visiting Waiheke island is a must if you are in Auckland. And a tour is recommended & I would suggest Fullers. We were totally pleased with Fullers and our lovely guide Evelyn. The tour was well organised, it was fun & we had a great day. We visited three wineries & an olive farm. The day was sunny but ended... More

As a regularly ferry user, I have been very disappointed by the ferry service since they went to their summer timetable. Ferries frequently do not arrive until they are scheduled to depart (i.e. today on the 5pm ferry, the ferry arrived at 5.02 and then had a few hundred people to board). Ground Staff do try their best but the... More

A group of us spent a wonderful day exploring Waiheke Island by way of the Waiheke Explorer Hop on Hop Off Bus, a well organized and structured bus service that goes around the island making 15 stops in a circular route in 30 minute intervals. Judith, one of the few hosts today, welcomed and showered us and the rest of... More

This is a very good service- it runs every 1/2 hour and there are plenty of seats and a decent variety of stops. Inside, the buses are very clean and there is a great air-conditioning system which is perfect for hot days. The tour guides didn't speak very good english and were slightly confusing- but good entertainment.

The "Explorer Tour" which I purchased online in November to visit Waiheke Island on 28 December 2016 has been rebranded as their 'hop on hop off' tour. It's clearly popular but the numbers did highlight some - hopefully teething - problems. Whilst additional drivers were secured in private buses, the strain shows. The more systemic issue is that many of... More

You travel by ferry across to Waiheke Island getting amazing views of Auckland harbour along the way. You are met by a guided bus (wonderfully informative and funny driver/guide) who takes you to 3 great vineyards to enjoy the atmosphere and taste some wines. We went to Mudbrick, Cable bay and Te Whau vineyards. Each had spectacular views and lovely... More

This sure was an inexpensive way to go, however the buses were regularly late to their stops (typically 10 minutes) and their "15" stops were really only about 10 (they pick you up on the other side of the road in many spots). On top of that, we missed our ferry and got stuck waiting 30 minutes because our host... More

We landed in auckland at 8 am and by the time we slowly made our way to the ferry terminal, the explorer tour was our only option left. Since it is a 40 minute ferry ride, we bought a lunch nearby and ate it on our way to the island. I had really wanted to have lunch at Mudbrick, but... More

Comfortable and good variety. Time to see a few places and go early to still be able to see the town after the tour
