This is a nice little statue to honour Sir Dove-Myer Robinson, a well respected mayor of the city of Auckland. You wuill see it on Aotea Square outside the town hall.

This is quite a small bronze statue of the former Mayor of Auckland. He held the office from 1959-1965 and then from 1968-1980. A character, he was called 'Robbie' and held the Mayor's office longer than anyone else.Pity the statue was so small.

This small statue is nicely done.....but hard to find adequate description of it with history and context. Fortunately is is easy to find beside Queen Street overlooking Aotea Square.

The statue looked somewhat prepossessing on its perch in Aotea square and made for good photographs from a range of different perspectives.
