This area is very well frequented by locals and tourists for a good reason. It's clean tidy and has lots to do and see.

The area surrounds the cove (Swan River) inlet which is home to a variety of bird & wildlife. Dolphins regularly patrol this area and can sometimes be seen herding fish for their meals.

Apart from this it had lots of grassed areas, a footbridge and magnicicent view of Optus stadium across the other side of the river.
The beauty is that there are restaurants bars and plenty of places to just sit and chill.

This is very close to the Matagarup Bridge and it is great by day or night.

Dropped in for a drink - stayed for some more. Please show some support for this great little bar. Relaxing vibe, great outlook. New and building their business, I suspect, this bar has much to offer moving forward. Would love to see them achieve and maybe add some live Sunday session music. Highly recommend giving this venue a go.

A beautiful cove so close to the city yet quiet enough that you could be anywhere in the world. There is an abundance of cafes, restaurants, and bars, all with wonderful water views and alfresco dining. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city or are looking for something different, this is the place for you.

Visited this place on the recommendation of a family member, and have to say was not disappointed. We started off with a coffee at toast and then had a walk around. We saw the fire personal training had a chat with them and carried on round to see the Optus stadium. From there you could se the matagarup bridge. Stunning

Lovely part of Perth CBD. Super easy to get to from Perth train station or central bus station via the free city CAT bus service (Yellow CAT). Quiet and peaceful and perfect for a few drinks or a meal by the waterside or at the inner 'lake' beyond the main cove. Coffee or cocktails, pub or small bar, couple of restaurants by the water itself of other options (Asian, hot dog, sushi, pizza) avail on the main street just behind the cove. Lovely to walk around the Swan River in this area or have a bbq and easy walking distance to Optus Stadium so perfect for a drink/meal pre-footy match. Extra special at night with the cove bridge lit up, even more so at Christmas, and Summer free events such as Brass on the Grass at Victoria Gardens adjacent to the cove are well worth attending. Claisebrook Bar, Bright Tank Brewery and Whipper Snapper Whisky Distillery close by. Couple of playgrounds and not far from the new Wellington Square play area. In Autumn the trees/leaves in the houses around are gorgeous. All in all a beautiful and very special area of Perth city to wander around.

This is the prettiest place in Perth. It’s a great place for a meal, drink at a bar or a relaxing coffee.
At night the cove is stunningly beautiful. Very romantic and serene. A walk from the cove to the Matagarup Bridge will give you plenty of scenic photo opportunities. Or the bridge and stadium lit up at night.

We decided to go for a nice walk in the park on tuesday but when we got there, there were people shouting really loud. We checked it out and found a group of homeless aborigines shouting in their language. I came to the park to have a nice relaxing day, not hear someone shout at the top of their lungs. And they sort of smelled. It was discouraging since you go to the park to have a nice day. Not hear someone shout at the top of their lungs.

My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to live in East Perth for a year between 2015 - 2016 and I can honestly say East Perth in particular the area around Claisebrook Cove is, in my opinion, the most beautiful part of this wonderful city. The cove itself and down by the river make for the most tranquil morning walks looking out over the river towards crown and the new stadium, all of the buildings and properties are beautiful, simply walking around the suburb through the parks admiring the architecture makes for a morning or afternoon well spent.

Not to mention the huge range of fantastic cafes and restaurants, I will share a few of my favourites... The Royal on the Waterfront is always a crowd pleaser, not only for it's perfect location but they have a great lunch and dinner menu and host a lot of events throughout the year. Breakfast spots are in abundance in and around Claisebrook Cove, Royal St Café opposite IGA does a good value breakfast, Toast near the water is also great and the Rose Deli does a fantastic breakfast/lunch but my two absolute favourites are Kinky Lizard and the Partisan (right on the waterfront). There are also plenty of options for dinner, Fuku Sushi being our go to takeaway the whole time we lived in East Perth, a small family run business run by the loveliest people serving up delicious, cheap food. Now there is also Wassup Dog another great spot, as well a Goong Korean BBQ, Royal Siam Thai takeaway and a fantastic Italian café called Antico, aside from the restaurants the IGA on Royal St is another stand out, their fresh/hot food counter meals are amazing.

As well as being a foodie's paradise Claisebrook Cove and surrounds has beauticians, massage parlours, skin specialists, chemists, hairdressers... I could honestly write a book about how much I love this area. If you are ever lucky enough to visit, let alone live there, you will see what I mean.

We came to this area for dinner and had a lovely evening stroll afterwards. A number of cafes and bars line the main cove area for people to choose from. Heading towards the river are public open spaces with a nice area for picnics and barbecues and a pedestrian bridge spanning the cove. Check out the traditional indigenous art and stories on display which add a great backstory to the area.
