If you are in Perth a walk along the Elizabeth Quay is a must. They view on the bay is really breathtaking both in broad daylight and at sunset. From the Bell Tower walk over the Elizabeth Quay Bridge and reach the First Contact Sculpture. Don't be in a rush and look at the modern skyline growing each day more and more and then look in the distance to see the quite neighbourhood of South Perth (on the other side of the bay). From here you can decide whether to go back to the City Centre or keep walking along the cycle path that will lead eventually down to the University of West Australia passing under Kings Park.

While staying in Perth, it is nice to walk around the Harbour. There are lots of restaurants, and activity here (vs CBD at night which is so quiet). You can catch a boat ride down the Swan River, sit and people watch or walk over the bridge, which is lit at night.

This is probably the Ground Zero of Perth City. You have to come here to get an understanding of Perth and how the city is structured around this place. Many important historic building are located around the quay. It is a beautiful place to walk around.

We were staying @ the Ritz Carlton hotel in the heart of Elizabeth Quay. It’s a lovely place to take your time and stroll along the pebbled paths and explore the beautiful surroundings alongside the Swan River. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants not to mention Gusto Gelato for ice-cream lovers.

This area is the redeveloped old Perth port area. It's now a mixture of repurposed old sheds/ warehouses and sympatheic new buildings, full of bars and restaurants. There's a huge modern statue, the Bell Tower, a carousel, bus station, shops and a modern ferry port. Very pleasant to walk around.
