Pinnacles Desert Sunset Stargazing Tour

140 reviews
The Pinnacles Desert is known for its unique limestone rock formations and lies in the Nambung National Park, an around 2-hour drive north of Perth. On this tour, set out in the afternoon and stop along the way to enjoy sandboarding, see Wildflowers at Nilgen nature reserve in season, then take a guided bush tucker/bush medicine walk at Hangover Bay before arriving at the Pinnacles desert. Then, enjoy a sunset dinner in the desert, followed by a guided stargazing experience.

Having to do a 14 day quarantine - the team were ultra responsive in providing me with a great bike and delivering and picking up from my hotel. I had my own trainer and was able to pair the two and exercise each day. Would recommend About Bikes to anyone wanting to ride in Perth. My only regret is that I had to do all my cycling in my room!

I chose this company as some of the others were just so expensive it was unreal. I phoned ahead to check they were open and had a bike free. Walked over there, collected a bike which was in great condition and got a map and some advice on a route to take. As a tourist I could have done with more detailed info on the route, I didn't get lost but luckily I'm good with directions, but it was tricky so more detailed info wouldn't meant I could have relaxed and enjoyed it a bit more at times. There was no queue, the helmet fitted fine and the bike worked well. Most importantly I saved about £30/40 compared to what the other companies were charging, for just a bike!

My wife and I rented a couple of single kayaks and spent 3 hours exploring the Swan River. A couple of things you should know: 1) On the weekend there is free parking next to Trinity College on Trinity Avenue which is less than 5 minute walk away. 2) They tell you that you will get wet. This is an understatement. Wear bathers if you are renting a kayak. 3) When you are done putting sunscreen on, put more sunscreen on. 4) Consider starting upstream, it will make getting back easier. 5) Staff will allow you to leave items with them that you don't want to get wet. The staff were really great. I'd highly suggest this for a morning or afternoon in the city.

Thanks so much for your review and your tips for fellow kayakers, we are glad you enjoyed your experience. Bathers are definitely the best clothing for kayaking as well as a long sleeve rashie or similar. We also recommend wearing thongs or sandals as best footwear :)

The staff were very helpful and made sure we had well cared for bicycles. The bikes or easy to drive and extremely well-maintained. The location is perfect to catch the bike path in all different directions along the river.

Hi, Thanks so much, we really appreciate your feedback. We are very lucky to be so close to the bike path that goes around the river, making it easy to do the Bridges ride :)

This is the perfect way to spend a sunny Perth day! From About Bike Hire, there are a number of great rides; around the river, East Perth, Optus Stadium, Kings Park, all of them beautiful. The bikes are in excellent condition - they have somewhere for your water bottle/ keys/ phone, which makes it easy. Sunscreen is also provided at the bike hire shop for forgetful folk such as ourselves! Hint: on a busy day, best phone ahead and reserve your bikes - you can pay over the phone. If you pay for an hour but end up taking them for longer, you just fix up the difference at the end. When we arrived to collect our bikes, there were other groups who hadn't done this and so had to wait. Enjoy! I know we did :)
