My colleague and I travel for work all over. After work, in the evenings we try to find the local speakeasies. Mechanics Institute was speakeasy-ish, and it was a great find! We had a little trouble finding the place –which is half the fun. But...More

This venue was highly recommended so I was surprised at how standoffish the staff were. Pretentious and unprofessional, but the chips were ok. If you love hipster indifference, you’ll love mechanics bar.

A nice little watering hole tucked away in a tiny lane in Northbridge. They have an excellent gin and whisk(e)y selection and friendly, knowledgeable bartenders. The sitting area is classic hipster: small, dim, distressed furniture, easygoing. Free Wifi to boot.

Found this great place on an Urban List. We were greeted by a welcoming and cool multi terrace environment. My wife was not sure what to order and the bartender made the perfect suggestion. The steel straw is a cool idea. We ordered Flipside burgers....More

There is a bit of a view, but maybe not as iconic or romantic as the one that you see in the movies. But being in the city, I reckon it's good enough :)
