No doubt Winthrop hall is the most eye-catching building on the University of Western Australia campus. Some reviewers have likened it to Italian style architecture in Tuscany, perhaps also because of the shape of the tower and the green Mediterranean-like surroundings with cypress trees and...More

This unexpectedly lovely Italian-style hall is the venue for the University of Western Australia's graduation ceremonies and exams. It is a grand building in a campus with beautiful grounds and must be an inspirational place to study. We attended a choral concert in the hall....More

Winthrop Hall is located right at the center of the beautiful University of Western Australia campus. This building is perhaps the most prominent landmark of the UWA campus. With its "Campanile" (clocktower) it resembles prominent buildings in the Tuscany region in Italy such as the...More

Postcard perfect gardens. Intricate sandstone, colourful stained glass and shiny organ pipes. Every UWA graduate knows Winthrop Hall from undergraduate exams to graduation.Very few are aware of the dungeon beneath where desks and chairs are stored.

This hall at the University of Western Australia reminds me of Italy with its long pool at the front - it has a regal air and you can feel the history of hundreds of scholars walking proudly to graduation.

Very nice building and architecture, with well-maintained lawn in front of the building. Visited this place during summer break and it was empty. I'm sure during semesters, the lawn will be full of students lounging around while reading and hanging out with their friends.
