Government House is a beautiful building in superb gardens. Some of the plants must be years old, pity about the people that are our pollies in there.

The Governor of Western Australia (WA) lives and works in Government House. I have been there several times; the interior is fine example of Victorian-era craftsmanship. The Governor is not an elected official, he is appointed by the Queen on the advice of the Premier of WA. A number of worthy people have held the post. If you want to... More

I was very lucky as the gate was open and the place was open for inspection but not the building just the grounds. It is open a few times a year for tours though and it is a splendid building

A great way to relax and walk amongst the lush green perfectly manicured gardens. Historic trees, gardens, and fountains. Rich history!.. A good way to kill an hour or so!.. Highly recommend if you are into history and gardens!

Government House is the official residence and office of the Governor of Western Australia. The Governor is the constitutional head of government in Western Australia. The building is quite magnificent. The building dates from the 1860s. I have visited Government House several times. You can take a peek at Government House on the regular open days. The gardens are also... More

The gardens are open from 12-00 till 14:00 on some days always best to check on the website. Grab some lunch and take it in with you. Beautifully appointed gardens not crowded when I went. Sit under a tree and relax. Well worth a walk around and a sit.

When Government House is open it is a nice place to spend a day. The large well maintained grounds allow for plenty of wondering around exploring and the House itself is an interesting peek into the history of WA, while still being a part of its future. A good day out for both visitors and locals alike.

Well worth a visit whilst in Perth. Lots of lovely seats to sit in and enjoy the gardens. The jacarandas were out whilst we were there, one of my favourite trees, the scent was heavenly. Don't forget to see the sculptures just outside of the kangaroos.
