I recently took my two grand children aged 11 and 12 to the Mint and spent a very interesting hour with two guides viewing the pouring of gold and all the aspects of how and where gold was discovered in WA. The children were absorbed as were the adults. A good visit for holiday excursion coffee shop and gift shop... More

This was such an interesting visit to the Perth mint not to be missed when visiting Perth. From the tour of the mint to the great gift shop then finish your visit with a trip to the restaurant

Much better than you would expect. We went on a tour of the mint as a rainy day option and were not disappointed. Very informative and rather interesting, if brief. The displays of shiny objects and, of course, the pouring of molten gold into a solid bar will be enough for most people. An extensive collection of nuggets, minting tools... More

Close to the city. You have to take the tour to enter the Mint. Interesting exhibits but thought the tour price was a bit high.

Loved watching the gold being poured to make a gold bar. Fascinating to see all the history behind gold and silver and the gold mining times.

We weren't really expecting this to be as fun and interesting as it turned out. The tour guides are very professional and have many interesting stories about the history of gold in Western Australia. The short video presentation is quality, and the exhibits are engaging. The gold pour was excellent. We have a 5 and 9 yr old and they... More

Brilliant service provided. Sold our damaged and unwanted gold. They pay 80% of current value but you know they are not going to rip you off..

The Perth Mint specialises in making coins out of precious metals, mainly god and silver. Western Australia (WA) is Australia's biggest gold producer. Visitors can take a tour of the Mint. The Mint's commemorative coins are very highly regarded, particularly in rhe United States. The Perth Mint is owned by the WA State Government.

You can just tour the gallery if you are on a budget it is free, but if can can spend a bit then its worth it to visit the tour of the Perth mint as well. But be sure to check the time as they have i think only three tours a day. But you wont regret it...for a once... More

You can wander around the 'retail section' of the Perth Mint free of charge but tour needs to be booked and paid for. We enjoyed the tour and seeing the gold melted, poured into a mould and cooled very quickly in cold water. Not overly impressed with front-office/reception staff as we found them to be not very helpful or forthcoming... More
