Take a 60 minute guided tour to get a good introduction to the history and how's of minting. There is a small cafe, but go here for the exhibits. The mint tour is $19 or if you must go on the tour and enjoy tea afterwards for $25.

Loved browsing through the shop and then went on the tour which is a must as you will learn all about how the mint started and watch one of the staff take molten gold out of furnace and put into mould for gold bar.

We were told by our driver from the airport on arrival that we should make a visit to the Mint - he was righ,t so I'm passing on the advice to TA readers. The 45 minute tour (costing 19 dollars per adult) is very informative and includes the opportunity to watch a live 'gold pour' - and than you have... More

we really enjoyed this tour of the Perth Mint. The $1 million dollar coin, and the gold bar pour were highlights. Things that you wouldn't see every day. I would say the café isn't very big and the selection not that vast, so find another place for lunch

Our tour guide was great! Very entertaining and informative. We started outside with the history of finding gold in Australia and in particular, WA. Then he showed us replicas of some good "nuggets". I use that term loosely because 3 of them filled a wheelbarrow! He took us inside and we watched a 5 min. movie and moved on towards... More
