Most of the rooms have been closed so there are very few paintings on display. The old classic historic paintings are few, with the main focus on aboriginal and newbe art, which is difficult to interpret due to its odd style. Melbourne and Adelaide are much better galleries.

Lots of paintings and some sculptures to look at. The people at the reception were helpful in finding the paintings we wished to see and provided worksheets for our children which engaged them for more than an hour!

I love our art gallery, new things always coming and going, and using the old buildings makes it all the more interesting, and the Year 12 Perspectives exhibition is always an amazing showcase of young talent that I visit every year.

We visited the Art Gallery and was fascinated with the displays of the Aboriginal Artists. Enjoyed seeing the development of their art styles through the years from traditional to modern art.

The gallery is a fantastic place to visit with a great collection of Australian and Aboriginal art. Best of all it's free! There have been some excellent traveling exhibitions in the last such as Warhol, Monet and numerous MOMA series. There are guided tours available, the gift shop is fantastic (I often go there to buy presents for all occasions)... More

This is a great collection of recent and older Australian art. The Aboriginal section is particularly impressive. A featured work is "Down on His Luck" that captivates one's imagination.
