Always enjoy visiting this memorial. It is in a beautiful park and has outstanding views of Perth City. It is a sombre place as we read the names of those that paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country and for freedom, especially now that we have found my wife's uncle's name on the monument. Lest we forget

The War Memorial is a tall obelisk which can easily seen from the city of Perth. It includes an Eternal Flame and Roll of Honour. In both World Wars, the contibution of Western Australia far outweighed its small population. In World War I, the 10th Light Horse Regiment particpated in many heroic actions in the Middle East The War Memorial has one of the best views from Kings Park across the Swan River.

Really nice to see how Australia pay respect to fallen service men and ladies.
This monument is exceptional with the view, the construction, the flame, the water and the way it all aligns.
My Dad served in WW2.... Lest we forget.

As part of our recent visit to Perth we had to visit the popular Kings Park which includes the Botanical Gardens and the War Memorial.
The War Memorial is a stunning tribute to our past and present service people and surrounded by beautiful lawns. Like Melbourne's War Memorial, this also has the 'eternal flame'. The memorial overlooks the Swan River/Elizabeth Quay area.
Definitely worth a visit.

The memorial itself has a deep meaning, and merits the silent contemplation that the signage mentions. But there's a quiet beauty about the memorial itself, with the eternal flame set in the middle of a reflective pool of water. And the location is spectacular, set above the city of Perth, with magnificent views just a short walk away, and surrounded with beautiful green lawn. Very well looked after, easily accessible, and beautiful.

A stunning and suitable memorial for guests to remember those who fought for the future that all of us enjoy today. The centre flame stays lit even late at night, which is a very fitting tribute against the beautiful city backdrop.
It was also great to see that other guests were very respectful of the memorial and sat in silence.

The Western Australian State War Memorial is a tall obelisk overlooking the city of Perth. It has one of Kings Park's best views over the Swan River. The War Memorial honors those who served in foreign conflicts, including World Wars I and II. Although WA had only a small population, it has a proud record of service. The 10th Light Horse Regiment served gallantly in the Boer War, Gallipoli and in the Middle East. The bestselling autobiography "A Fortunate Life" by Bert Facey describes combat in World War I in graphic detail.

Sitting proudly in King’s Park is this gracious memorial to the fallen. The memorial overlooks the city of Perth, with views of the Swan & Canning Rivers and the Darling Ranges.
The memorial is an almost replica of the Australian Imperial Force Memorials in France and Belgium.

So very popular with locals and tourists. Great photo opportunities with the awesome panoramic views of Perth City and the Swan River behind.
The Eternal Flame allows respectful contemplation with great seating areas, including the whispering wall.
With so much interest and respect for the ANZACS especially, even the teenage daughter was impressed!
Highly recommended.

This was my third time I was there. When getting closer to the War Memorial, I felt the absolute silence and surrounded became strict. I felt deep condolences to the brave souls who sacrificed their lives to gain the peace for today in Australia where I live. We thank you.
