An attractive mall, with some beautiful old buildings along the way. Mainly high-end shops, as opposed to the parallel Hay Street Mall. Worth a stroll if you're in the area, or need to make purchases. The Friday evening Hawker's market is accessible part-way down the mall. The Perth train station is accessible at the William Street end of the mall.

This mall seems to have stagnated somewhat, the bustle when we visited early December sadly lacking. There was good pedestrian traffic but most seemed to be using it as a corridor to other parts. Like Forrest Place, once was vibrant.

Central Perth seems to have been dying a slow death over many years. The entire area used to be vibrant, great shopping, entertainment, restaurants and special interest venues. There are still many shops and restaurants, various entertainment venues, but, little vibe. We visited a couple of weeks ago, pre lockdown, and again last week, post lockdown but with Covid restrictions. The main activity seemed to be people traversing the malls to/from the train/bus stations in Wellington Street. Shop wise, the only place real busy, queues for the tills, was the supermarket. The newly elected Mayor and Council have major challenges to revitalise the entire area. Perhaps when Covid retreats it will recover some of its former vibrancy.

This mall used to be so vibrant with interesting shops and eateries. Now they seem to have all gone along with the nearby Moon & Sixpence pub which was demolished a few years ago to make way for a soulless glass tower.
Now the place is basically just franchise stores that you can find at any suburban mall, but with the added danger of being bowled over by the numerous e-scooter riders and bike riders who have no regard for your safety in this PEDESTRIAN mall.
Don't waste your time or health here.

What's there not to love about a wide street closed to vehicles, lined on both sides with interesting stores, and the occasional busker or two along the kerb to entertain anyone who walks past? All the big department stores are found here, David Jones, H&M, Myers, Target and many more. When you need to rest weary feet or meet friends, there are seats aplenty facing the Water Labyrinth and the cool Cactus sculpture at Forrest Square which is flanked by Murray Street and Wellington Street.

The free CAT buses make it easy to reach or leave Perth's main shopping area, saving your taxi fare to do more shopping. The red and yellow CAT buses stop along Wellington Street at the edge of Forrest Square, while the blue and red CAT buses stop along William Street near its junction with Murray Street.

Murray Street Mall is the second part of the main shopping area in Perth, with the other part being Hay Street Mall.

There are all your favourite stores here including the big names like Target, Myer and David Jones, as well as a variety of smaller and mid range shops.

On Friday nights over summer, the Twilight Hawkers Markets spill out of Forrest Chase into Murray Street Mall and are a highlight for me. On Sundays there is also a small farmers market in the mall.

Murray Street Mall is great for your shopping fix.

The Murray Street Mall is the central point of Perth where all the bestbshopping is and the tourist information office is situated. You cannot miss it - open every day with super volunteers eager to help. Also free walking tours by local expert volunteers! There is some building work ongoing, but once finished the area will be superb. Also Friday food, ark etc with street food of the best!

Just the same as Hay street really, nothing special, homeless people and other completely undesirable characters, plenty of police during daytime to make you feel safe, have not bothered visiting during the evening as nothing to see here.

Visited on Sunday 17th November, it is car free, so much better for checking out the shops or just relaxing and enjoying a drink at one of the many cafe's there.
