We enjoyed stopping and looking at this lovely church. Pearl shell altar amazing. Stations of the cross also in pearl shell frames. Five dollar donation requested. Open area with shade nearby for a picnic lunch. There is a bakery nearby, but unfortunately it was Sunday so closed.

We stopped here on the way back to Broome on our Horizontal Falls Tour. A very pretty church with an interesting pearl shell alter.

This is a pleasant simple church and a pleasant place to be out of the heat for a while and gather your thoughts.

The pearl shell decoration throughout is fantastic. As is the 3 bell tower. And all built from a photograph!! The local Beagle Bay community obviously values this church - recently repainted throughout, clean and tidy. Such an unusual thing to find - beautiful in the sunshine

We had a short introduction to the indigenous culture of the area serviced by the church and former mission, from Mena. Mena took us over to the church where we met Fr Hillary. The church itself is gorgeous, simple but decorated with mother-of-pearl.

A stunning little church in an indigenous community that is very well maintained. A must see is the stunning alter adorned with pearl shells.

We rented a 4 wheel drive. Wanted to drive from Broome to Cape Levique. Instead drove halfway and discovered this church on our way to Mercedes Beach. Quite an experience driving on dirt track. If you planning on driving to Cape Levique start early. Takes 3 hours ex Broome. The rental company wanted the car back into Broome city limits... More

Take the road out of Broome to Beagle Bay, wonderful aboriginal community live and work here. However, be warned you must have a four wheel drive as the 90 km road out there is unsealed for the majority of the journey, it takes a while to get there because of the road conditions, at times the road is quite narrow...
