Visited on a lovely sunny Monday. The tulips and the grounds were very pretty and colorful, a credit to those who planted, presented and maintained them.
However there were negatives. Firstly it was slow getting in and they almost insisted on paying with a card. The Chalet Healy restaurant section we were gleefully informed was fully booked and the takeaway queue was 20m long. The Chalet Healy website does say bookings are essential but that should also be mentioned on the Araluen website which is a visitor's primary information source. So it was down to a small cafe where it took 3/4 of an hour to get some coffees and rather stale pastries. Any enterprising soul selling sandwiches etc would have made a small fortune. Overall somewhat disappointing.

Totally agree with Westoz. We were probably there on the same Monday. Coffee was impossible to obtain. In the roundhouse there should have been at least 2 people on duty serving coffee and cakes. The poor lady in there looked flat out with no time for a rest. The line was too long so we headed for the kiosk. About 30 minute wait there as it was obvious that those making coffees were also the one making them for the cafe. Left without a coffee. Ended up having an orange juice and a crepe from the 2 caravan stalls down below.
The stone steps could do with a bit of maintenance as some of the stones were missing creating a very dangerous situation for those having difficulty with steps.
Overall, we think the place needs more staff especially during their tulip festival and a little more ground maintenance.
Wont be going back. Disappointed overall.

Araluen is set in a very picturesque valley and the park contains magnificent mature trees, expansive lawns and lovely water features. A great spot for a picnic. The park's origins in the 1920s as the HQ for the Young Australia League is also a fascinating story and the restored cabins from that time were also great to see. So, I would definitely recommend a visit. At the same time, when we visited the garden beds were generally not at their best, with not a lot of flowers in bloom, and the couple of gardeners we saw seemed busy preparing the tulip beds for flowering in Spring. I suspect that is the best time to visit. The cafe in the park was closed when we visited, and looked like it had been for some time.

The park is nice, quiet and relaxing with fresh air. The scenery is perfect with these different flowers blooming fantastic colours. The tulips are gorgeous! The falls and the lake brings this cool fresh breeze to the park. With a nice river flowing to the pond. It's a must see place a tropical adventure.

It's also a lovely park to have a picnic or have lunch at the cafe. You can buy snacks and coffee too if you like.

There was a small train to take visitors for a tour of the gardens for those who do not wish to walk.

A really nice spot to spend an hour or three on a sunny day. It's best you visit and see for yourself.

I was absolutely amazed when I visited this Botanic Park. So many beautiful colours and everything was incredibly well maintained. Nice drive to get here. We stayed here for hours capturing endless photos but the place is so picturesque and pretty that it’s impossible to share the experience unless you go here! Highly recommend this place!

Tulip season September is the best time to visit. It can get busy. Save a few dollars and bring a picnic lunch. As parking attended if you can park closer especially if you are disabled as it is quite a walk for the elderly or disabled at this time of year

Whenever we come to WA, a visit to Araluen is a favourite. I have always known it as Araluen Gardens, but it seems to have morphed into a Botanic Park! I enjoyed today’s visit because it seemed like a whole nw place: a different season perhaps, or maybe a different part. No beds of tulips today, but lovely walks through forest and alongside the splashing stream. Toilets and café facilities are available. There is an entry fee, and then good roads to various parking areas. A great destination.

Beautiful spot to spend 1-3hrs exploring. Taking a picnic lunch would be perfect. We had afternoon plans so just enjoyed a morning walk with a mango smoothie break. My son who is 10 loved the tulips and the rocky streams and water features. Perfect spring morning adventure to unwind.

We went there last Saturday (9/8).The entrance fee for family has increased to $25 from $10 & will increase to $40 in 2 weeks time according to the staff coordinating the parking.

The tulips are beautiful and we brought some food for a picnic at the barbeque are.Later we've decided to have tea at the Chalet Healy Tea Room.It was crowded on the verandah so we went inside and proceed to order drinks and food from the cashier.

My friend tried to buy ice creams for the children but were told by a long haired older lady staff that ice creams are only allowed outside?? So we just ordered drinks, potato wedges and cakes instead.

Throughout our stay there, the same lady constantly interrupted us and told off our kids. They were told not to play with the pepper and she proceeded to take the pepper & salt off our table.Later on she came & asked the kids not put hands on the window.

My husband was on the phone when she asked if he had finished his tea.I thought that was the end of it but she came again to our table & informed us that no outside food is allowed when she saw chocolate wafer on the table.Seriously??You refused to sell ice creams to our children and then informed us outside food is not allowed.

The is the rudest customer service we've encountered so far & we have visited other cafes & restaurants all over the world. We will not be coming to this cafe ever again.Children friendly??Certainly not.

We arrived at the gate in a car on Saturday at 2:30pm after queuing through the first car park for 30 minutes and were charged a $30 entrance fee for three adults then queried on the age of the 11 month baby in the back. It was difficult to find a car park inside the park where my elderly mother didn’t have to climb up rocks and steps to get to the café which was the purpose of the visit. In the café the woman who I think was the manager berated the person in front of me in the long queue regarding her request for ice with her espresso, she charged her 50c for the ice and advised her in no uncertain terms that she was to 'stick to the menu'. Considering her order was around $40, I thought it terrible service. Then it was my turn to receive similar treatment regarding my request for a paper cup for one of the three coffees I ordered and even more annoying was the sixteen year old girl behind the coffee machine advising me as I left the 'for future reference, I should modify my attitude'. Including the entrance fee and the cost of the food, it cost us almost $80 for three small pieces of carrot cake, three coffees and a rather large serve of rudeness.
Maybe it's the off season but I didn't see many flowers, certainly nothing I would want to take a photo of. Oh, the smell of the toilets (quite clearly urine) wafted quite a distance across the park, extremely unpleasant.
A miserable couple of hours indeed but a lesson well learned – I’ll be heading off to Kings Park next time
