About
A sublime fusion of design, food and fashion flows through the architectural veins of Emporium Melbourne. Since opening in 2014, Emporium Melbourne has firmly established itself as the City’s pre-eminent shopping destination, an experience like no other. World class in every way, innately Melbourne in the finer details, the Centre marks a dramatic integration of the old and the new. Passing through the grandiose 1920 Myer façade, Emporium Melbourne has a way of immersing you into what feels like a living art piece. Every angle is visually stimulating, from the mesmerising design to the world’s leading brands showcasing their luxury flagship stores in standout style. Be prepared for a sensory explosion with food offerings that redefine the very notion of shopping sustenance. The aromas and visual delights from a spectacular café court are set against a backdrop of soaring ceilings reminiscent of Melbourne’s uber cool laneway eateries.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.

Emporium Melbourne is a multi-level collection of specialty shops and eateries. Emporium was founded as a reconstruction of Myer Department Store after it was taken over. Emporium It can be accessed through the Lonsdale Street entrance. Emporium is very popular with shoppers looking for a bargain.

Customer service team member at customer service desk determined with their agenda and unable to effectively communicate and listen. By not listening and demonstrating any form of understanding the staff member escalated the issue and then hung up on me on the phone. Really unwarranted, unprofessional and a terrible experience.

We were wandering around the city killing time... when we stepped into the Emporium looking for a bathroom... while I waited for my ex .. . I was quite mesmerised by the 70s vibe of the building. When he returned I commented that I was enjoying the air conditioning and we should spend some time here.

We walked through, we found a clothing store (Uniqlo) and he went shopping. It's interesting how he has always enjoyed clothing shopping whereas I have always considered it a task. He managed to find some really nice dress shorts in here.

It's worth spending time in here in Summer for the air-conditioning... and probably in Winter to avoid rain. :) It has an outstanding range of stores on offer.

I want to thank the young lady from the fitting room who assisted my mother.
We'd left our mother shopping on the street level of Uniqlo, while we went up/down (depending on who was looking for what) with the instructions to meet up on the main floor.

Who knew there was so much to look at! When we got back to the main floor (with our arms full of items), mom was sitting on a stool (in front of the Roger Federer poster). The young lady was kind enough offer a seat in the fitting area but brought a chair out when my mom replied that she was waiting for us and was concerned that we would not see her if she was in the fitting area.

I'm sorry I didn't get the name of the young lady.
Thank you very much for taking care of mom!
and thank Uniqlo for hiring people who care.

btw - besides the service, product selection here was excellent. our preferred location out of Uniqlos in Vancouver, Canada and Tokyo, Japan!

I would always come to Emporium whenever I come to Melbourne because it has everything you need in once. All range of goods to select with lots of resting place and food.

The only downsize about it is the direction is still below par and if you are not familair about the place you might get lost.

I would recommend people to come and enjoy the City of Melbourne.

Emporium Melbourne opened in 2014 .

We visited this mall to dine at one of our favorite Taiwanese Restarants Din Tai Fung which we first dined at in Malaysia.

Unfortunately they had a 1 hour wait so we dined instead at New Shanghai.

Lots of great food options in this mall and there looks to be some renovations for new additions to the mall.

Lots of fashion shops are located here as well.

Stumbled across this as we stayed across the road in the Mercure. Was open late, well air conditioned and great stores with something for everyone. Service staff in all stores we visited were friendly and helpful. Customer service was everywhere and the layout is spacious, Covid friendly with a full day of shopping completed in style and with pleasure. Many food outlets and coffee stops to rest as needed,

The mall was huge but mainly high end. Personally i liked the uniqlo the most because it occupied few levels! Besides shopping, there's few restaurants at the basement.

Emporium Melbourne (or simply Emporium) is a luxury shopping centre on the corner of Lonsdale and Swanston streets with contemporary shopping mall offering a variety of upscale retailers, plus restaurants, cafes & food court. An easy stop along the free tram.

Emporium Melbourne is located on the site of the former Myer Emporium, one of the oldest and best known shopping destinations in the city. Designed by The Buchan Group, visitors will tour the current Emporium building which is a celebration of new built form whilst retaining its former heritage facades, address and name to keep its sense of history alive.

A great stroll as part of your walking tour of the city.
