My Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair 6day/5nights trip was the first time I have used Auswalk to organise my travel. Their web site is very easy to navigate and once you have made a choice and made contact, someone will very promptly be in touch with information etc. They are very good communicators. The booking all worked efficiently.
Pick up in Launceston was by Overland Track Transport and they were right on time. Our driver Steve was very informative and drove carefully, particularly on the gravel road. At Lake St Clair he escorted us to reception and made sure all was correct. The service was similar for the shuttle ride with Andrew from Lake St Clair to Cradle Mountain and from there to Launceston Airport with Michelle. All drivers were informative but not did not go on and on like some tour guides do. Everything worked as Auswalk's itinerary had set out. At both lodges we had very comfortable accommodation in cabins with en suites. Breakfast, walker's lunch and dinner are part of the package and we found the daily meal allowances very adequate and never felt we needed to buy more food. Their suggested daily walking itineraries are well chosen and always offered a shorter option for anyone not wanting to do the main walk. It was very nice not to have to think about transport, hiking lunches etc. Just be free to enjoy the day's walk. Auswalk deliver what they promise and at a very good price for the comfort offered at the chosen lodges. I would certainly use them for future walking trips. My walking partner is already making another booking with Auswalk so he thinks they offer excellent service and value for money. I highly recommend Auswalk.

What a great company to deal with! Our self guided walk in Tassie was simply brilliant. Everything was so well thought out and planned by Auswalk. The walks were exactly as detailed in the Guidebook. The accommodation was first rate. The food was plentiful and beautiful. All of our interactions with Auswalk were great. All of the transfers and pickups were seamless and always there at the time they said they would be. I can highly, highly recommend Auswalk to anyone considering doing their Three Capes walk.

Another excellent Auswalk hike. Nothing was too much trouble for local guides David and Kathleen. From the early morning airport pickup until the late afternoon drop off, they were always available, warm and welcoming. They both clearly love the island and made sure we left with a genuine understanding of the history of the area. Tassie weather was kind us, warm, no rain and not much wind. The seven day itinerary meant hiking days could be swapped around depending on the weather. Two highlights were the Mount Strzelecki hike, hard going up, harder coming down and an afternoon swim at Allports Beach.
A quiet unspoilt Island well worth visiting.

We had a fabulous walking holiday. The Aus walk guide book was thorough and easy to follow. It maximised our opportunities to experience beautiful features of the coastline and environment. Backup support from the office was prompt and efficient, ensuring our needs were effectively met in a timely manner. Georgie and John, our transfer drivers were also fabulous, they were flexible in accommodating our requests to personalise our start and finish times, they were a valuable source of information and considerate and caring when the weather became challenging. They went out of their way to make our experience a positive one. Our accommodation at The Great Ocean Walk Retreat was lovely, clean and comfortable. Overall, we could not have asked for better service. I highly recommend AusWalks and will look forward to booking another holiday with them again in the future.

My husband and I walked the Fraser Island 8 day self guided walk. We were mostly walking on our own, only meeting a few walkers 2 separate days. We felt like we had the island to ourselves and found it very relaxing in a strange way.
The guide books were so good, easy to follow and almost fool proof! We didn't need the map and was a great feeling knowing we were always on the right track (some of which were not that clear!)
We found the flexibility and hospitality given to us, especially by Greg and Lee at the Eurong, was amazing. We were able to adapt to suit our walking times and start and finish at times of our choosing.
Although it was meant to be Winter, the weather was amazing. The walk was mostly under canopy so no sunburn. The lakes were so beautiful and having our own secluded area on Lake McKenzie was the best...
We managed to see a dingo at Eurong when we were down on the beach watching the sunrise.
This was a very special holiday and I would definitely recommend Aus Walk - they did a great job.

Hi
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your holiday experience with others.
The majority of our business comes from referrals so we are very grateful for your review.
The Fraser Island Great Walk is an absolute gem so no surprises there that you enjoyed discovering its beauty. It is great to know that you enjoyed the accommodation, especially Eurong on the trip as well.
A dingo spotting is a real surprise, they are usually very shy.
Thank you once again, we look forward to hearing from you in the future.
Regards
Brett Neagle

We have just finished the Three Capes self guided hike in Tasmania and it was amazing! The booking was easy, communication ahead of the trip was detailed and helpful. Kimbra looked after us in during the walk and she was fantastic. From making sure she communicated with us the day before she picked us up, to making sure we had enough drinking water (stop over at supermarket) as there was water contamination at Port Arthur, to suggesting we switch our walking days due to bad weather forecast and all the extra tips and things that we got to do. Super attentive, punctual and accomdatiing! We had an amazing time and can't wait for the next one.

The 6 day 5 night Gt Ocean Road walk created a different sort of freshly washed bush and sea beauty with wild waves. Our guides Katie and Lee worked seamlessly together, were efficient and cared for the group without being bossy (!) and were able to keep us laughing by day and night. Auswalk's tips on pre walk fitness are good to follow as some days involve a fair amount of climbing.
We each increased our fitness level over the week. There was no pressure; guides and fellow walkers were all accommodating and encouraging and the van was always there if tired.
The views of the ocean and the varied landscapes made each day a revelation and our 2 visiting speakers (Cape Otway lighthouse and indigenous background) were both fascinating additions.

I did the self guided 8 day Great Ocean Walk on my own with Auswalk and I could not fault one thing about the organisation. They were fantastic. From the beginning they got back to me the quickest out of all the companies I contacted and that communication did not wane. They were always there for me, even with all the uncertainties of border closures, lockdowns etc. The maps and information provided were great and then on the trip the accomodation, food and transport were better than I expected. It was great! I definitely will only go with them for future walks as I know they do everything first rate! Highly recommend them 😁

You do not know what you don't know. AusWalk took all the uncertainty and stress out of planning our walk. We have just completed the 14 day, 240 km Portuguese Camino. AusWalk went out of their way to provide the itinerary we wanted for our self guided walk from Porto, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Their service providers in Portugal and Spain exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were exceptional and provided the rest and rejuvenation required each night to complete each stage of the 14 day walk. The personalised walking notes were invaluable and certainly ensured the best experiences and hassle free days as did the daily luggage relocation from one hotel to the next.

Visiting Carnarvon Gorge as it was on our bucket list for a long time.
It was the first experience with Auswalk holidays for my husband and I, who are in our early 70's and we were very impressed with the professional approach and tour arrangements that were made.
The accommodation was lovely in a wilderness lodge surrounded by fantastic bush and wildlife mainly Kangaroos and birds but we did see an echidna for the first time up close.
The guides went above & beyond to make our adventure what we wanted and didnt mind that we were a bit slower than the rest. The other people in our group were younger and fitter and had done previous walking holidays so knew what to expect but this was all new to us.
We would definitely recommend this Company and guides to anyone that had an interested in walking and experiencing a different type of holiday.

Hi there,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to your query.
Unfortunately we don't offer single day tours on the Great Ocean Walk. There are companies that will pick you up from Melbourne and take you to explore the 12 Apostles for the day. I'm not sure that they walk much of the track however.
Sorry we couldn't be more helpful for you.
Warm regards,
The Auswalk Team
