Melbourne is not such a huge city and whilst there are big and nice looking buildings, it's not oppressing. However if you feel the need for a bush walk, see flowers, trees and grass .. the Melbourne Gardens will get your daily fix of nature.

Sadly there had been a storm the previous day and there was some damage to trees that staff were working hard to sort out. The gardens are beautifully laid out and there are some nice buildings within the gardens that were sponsored by key fugures in Melbourne. Well worth a visit and it is a free attraction

Victoria is known as the Garden State. The capital, Melbourne, has many pleasant Gardens which would take a week to fully explore. A good place to start would be Fitzroy Gardens, which have many attractive features. The Botanic Gardens are spacious and easily accessible from the City. It's easy to spend a morning here.

A great place for some peaceful and restful green park. Lots of manicured grass, flowered areas and statues with walkways all around. Bright and airy, clean and safe, not at all dark and wooded as some other city parks.

We were staying on st kilda road so took a detour from the city centre back to our hotel. The locals are lucky to have such beautiful gardens, water features and fountains. Still, I think the botanical gardens are better.

Melbourne is fortunate to have so many wonderful gardens throughout the city. Some of the lovely gardens include Fitzroy Gardens, Carlton Gardens, Flagstaff, Botanic Gardens, King's Domain, Queen Victoria Gardens and many others. They are all beautiful and add to the attraction of the city. They are well cared for, have plenty of stunning plants, flowers and greenery, sculptures, water features, as well as space for many activities, picnics and so on.

Re visited the Botanic Gardens recently. Fabulous as ever. Lots of beautiful trees, lake and flowers. Lots of space for everyone to picnic walk and enjoy themselves. A must visit in Melbourne.

Melbourne has a number of stunning open green spaces dotted around the CBD. Fitzroy and Treasury Gardens to the east, Flagstaff Gardens to the north-west and the gardens along St Kilda Road to the south. Very well maintained, clean, and inviting.

What a wonderful experience. We took the took the dogs for a wander and were delighted at the variety of species from the giant shade trees to the cacti garden and everything in between. The lakes/ponds, flowers, signage and all so well maintained.

We visited during a typical Melbourne day. I’m surprised there hasn’t been anything done in terms of providing shelter. We had to run under a big tree just to keep dry. Still, it was a nice park, but better when dry and sunny.
