I have organised two cruises on the Melbourne Tramboat in recent years, the first one being two years ago, and the last one being in October 2016 and both of them were sensational. The first one was called "Next Stop the Pub". It started at Station Pier at Docklands at 10.30am m in close proximity to public transport, and we cruised along the Yarra, past the huge international container ships loading and unloading their loads and then under the Westgate Bridge and then turned up the Maribyrnong River. The two crew members on board were wonderful. We were supplied with a luscious morning tea with slices soon after we took off and we travelled up to the turnaround point at Anglers' Tavern, where we disembarked for a very enjoyable pub lunch. As we made our way up the river, we were given an interesting talk about the history of the river and we realized that it has not always been the peaceful and pristine river that it is today. In early days, abattoirs and other factories which lined the banks, spewed all their waste and offal into the river and badly polluted the waters. Not so today. Maribyrnong has turned into a very up-market suburb, with palatial homes along the river banks. The cost for this 4-5 hour trip including lunch, was $45, a very reasonable price.
Our second trip on the Melbourne Tramboat was in October 2016 on a very wet and wintery day. We tried the "Williamstown Fish'n Chips Cruise" which was marvellous. Same starting off point at Victoria Dock and the trip over the waters to the historic town of Williamstown was warm and cosy, shielded from the weather but not the view. We disembarked at Williamstown and were given an hour to explore the main street of heritage listed buildings. Williamstown also has a lovely marina, which forms a lovely foreground to an amazing view of Melbourne's city skyline. Back on board, we were treated to extremely delicious and generous packages of fish'n chips which kept us all happy. Once again, we enjoyed an interesting commentary by the captain of the Tramboat, who was a very entertaining and humorous host. This cruise cost $44.00 and was very good value for a great day's outing.

Our Probus group consisting of 38 happy seniors took a Melbourne Tramboat Cruise up the Maribyrnong river and we had a fabulous time. True the weather was not the best for cruising being grey and showery, but that did not detract from the day out. Lisa and Nick provided a great welcome and once we were settled in we were off accompanied by an informative but light hearted commentary as we passed through the docks area in finally into the Maribyrnong river itself. Being a cool day the coffee/tea offered on the way up were much appreciated and the accompanying cake slice was a nice surprise.

After an hour or so we arrived at the Anglers Arms where we had lunch which was included in the cruise price I might add. No chance of going hungry here, I had the roast of the day which was lamb and I think I had half a sheep on my plate. The weather cleared on the way back and the very informative commentary continued catching on the missed we had missed on the way up.

While we have lived in Melbourne for many years we have never done the Maribyrnong river before so this was an excellent way to remedy that situation.

Many thanks to Lisa and Nick for hosting a great day out ....

34 of us went from Docklands to Williamstown and return on the fabulous Tram Boat. The owners Anthony and Lisa are excellent hosts and provide an interesting knowledgeable commentary with quite a few laughs thrown in. We were given a very nice morning tea on our way to Williamstown which consisted of delicious slices and tea and coffee. We had approx 1 1/2 hours to wander around Williamstown before our return journey. We were provided with great individual Fish and Chips packs to eat on the trip back to Docklands. You could purchase wine and beer to have with the lunch if you wanted to. We were lucky to do this excursion on a beautiful sunny Melbourne day. We highly recommend the Tram Boat as a fantastic group outing.

Had a great trip on the Tramboat, travelled from Victoria Harbour to Herring island, Hawthorn & back.
Anthony, Lisa & Olivia were fantastic hosts for the 3.5 hr trip.
Morning tea & lunch were both provided with the bar available to purchase drinks. Lovely way to travel the Yarra. Highly recommend.

A unique vessel operated by a couple with the enjoyment of their passengers uppermost in their minds.
Provides interesting views of the Port of Melbourne and the lower Yarra River as well as the historic port of Williamstown.
My wife and I travelled as members of an organised group on the trip from Victoria Harbour to Williamstown and return. The trip took roughly an hour in each direction and there was a bit over an hour to enjoy coffee or an ice cream at Williamstown. On the return journey the tour pckage included a delightful and generously filled box of fish and chips for each passenger.
Highly recommended.

A first time experience on this relaxing Tram Boat cruise from Docklands to Williamstown and return. The owners Anthony and Lisa make you feel very welcome and provide entertaining and informative commentary. We were provided with morning tea consisting of tea or coffee with delicious slices. We cruised past the various dock yards and soon arrived at Williamstown where we had about 1 1/2 hours to walk around. Back on the boat we were served a tasty and great sized serve of fish and chips in individual packs. You can buy wine or beer on board. Our trip was excellent helped by a lovely mild and sunny Spring day.
I highly recommend this trip or trying one of their other trip excursions.

A scenic tour along the Maribyrnong River with a stop for lunch at the Anglers Tavern.
Anthony and Lisa were very entertaining and informative. We had morning tea on board and there is a bar available, lunch at the Tavern was very good also.
The cruise with lunch lasted around 3 1/2 hours and was definitely time well spent.
Would highly recommend.
