Great cruise with the great blues guitarist Lloyd Spiegel. Too rough to head onto the bay but cruised the yarra & docklands area. Good value. Service great. All my guests enjoyed themselves.

If you're doing the lunch cruise my advice is to have a light breakfast, because you won't be able to enjoy all the scrumptious delights served for lunch!
Wonderful crew and wait staff.
My husband and I enjoyed this day out on the water being spoilt.

My wife and I went on the Burlesque Showboat Cruise and had the best time. The food and drinks were great, all served by an very friendly staff. The show was amazing. All the performers were professional and made us laugh and blush (as any good burlesque show should). If we ever get back to Melbourne, we will be going again.

Do not do. The boat was overcrowded by 100 ppl. The viewing decks are no more than crew ways. Not wide enough for two ppl to walk side by side. Let alone see anything. It was cramped, packed in like sardines. The food was awful, cheap and scarce. All it did was do circles in the industrial harbour - just views of container ships and warehouses. The band was great.
$250 a head - Its appalling. Save your money - take your friends and family to a nice restaurant. Then watch the fireworks from the bank. Youll have a better time. Avoid avoid avoid.

We were so excited to have tickets for the mothers day Cruise (11th May 2014) that our family had purchased $119.00 each. Our tickets stated we would get a complimentary glass of 'champagne' as we boarded. By the time we walked up entrance the small round table was empty. I asked about this and the girl said 'oh there will be some inside'. Ok that's fine. Then we had to find our own table 'just down there round the corner' ...so we ended up at the very back of the Lady Cutler by the 'buffet' area. a table with three metal dishes on top. Underneath the table were dishes on the floor. This was a concern. Anyway we were lucky enough to be plonked next to a disgustingly dirty large tacky white plastic fan. Yah soon it was time to leave. a table of tourist were being quite difficult with the seating arrangements changing tables etc. We left a quick welcome aboard and we set sail...well chugged along. The food I fell was most disappointing we had expectations of the day mainly because we had been spoilt on the Sydney showboat which was amazing!! We had bits od bread roll thinly sliced with minimal filling, sushi?? we had on the table a bread roll. The staff began to bring around bits of food...a mini mince pie??? say what???? We were not at the footy by gee! We were offered a prawn and oyster each. Where was the amazing 'Buffet'?? Well there was a bowl of coleslaw, slices of pita bread, a pumpkin salad, a bowl of lettuce and tomato. Where was the potato salad (perhaps it would come later)...but even more interesting where was the show???? Oh that's right downstairs was the same price as upstairs but we got no show we got bloody disturbing radio music that kept repeating and as the family across from us said how loud and obnoxious it was. For a few minutes Frank Sinatra played on the sound system in our ears. anyway back to the Buffet...ha ha ha...three dishes came out. A pasta with a few bits of seafood in it. About 5 % seafood and 95 % creamy pasta, a red sauce that was supposed to be a chicken dish and a plain container of rice. Were they serious or have I watched to many episodes of My kitchen rules? I went for a walk and outside was the 'Brazilian Jazz star" stuffing her face with food. Wow I thought the cruise of a lifetime and show is only 2.5 hours long why could she not play downstairs and upstairs. I get a break every three hours at work and we had only been cruising about an hour. at first we were had glasses for water which by the way you had to get yourself...half way through all the glasses were removed and replaced by cheesy plastic cups??? This was a showboat and aren't we living in Melbourne??? A staff member came around and his shirt was so wrinkled like he had just got out of bed. Anyway coming in dock by now and still no desert. Where was the scrumptious buffet deserts of cheesecakes etc. The message from the captain saying we hope you enjoyed your trip and to recommend them to your friends and family....a woman rushed up to us placed the desert tray under our nose and we were able to take one 3cm piece of cheesecake I kid you not. We had not plates I watched a very old lady try to pick a piece of the tray and did not manage to as she dropped it and said never mind dear to the waitress. I was applaud by this. The waitress rushed off as obviously she had better things to do. Shame on the food, shame for families paying $119.00 per ticket for Mothers Day, there was nothing mother's day about it, shame on the plastic cups, shame on the paper coffee cups, shame on having food service dishes on the floor, shame on the NO SHOW!!! All I can say is thank goodness for Sydney showboat who get 10 out of 10 for food, service, presentation of staff, condition and cleanliness of boat and for knowing how to put on a Show. Lift your game Lady Cutler you have ripped many Mothers like myself off today.

Dear Lisa, We thank-you for your comments. We take all reviews very seriously and discuss with our staff any comments relevant to their roles and service. You have raised a number of issues about the food, timing, entertainment and staff attire. Firstly the Mother's Day cruise is a tightly timed lunch cruise, with a diversity of service: shared platters to the tables of seafood; buffet service of a salads bar, hot seafood and carvery dishes; and then finishing off with shared platters of petite fours (mini desserts). The menu was designed to cater for adults and children, realising that children can be fussy eaters, so we did provide some simplified dishes, such as premium party pies and creamy pasta dishes, specifically for the children. The cruise was tight for time; we had a lot of drinks and food service to cover; the staff were extremely aware of providing premium service to each guest and table. Unfortunately the dessert timings were a fraction tight for cruise. Lessons learnt. The entertainer is now fully aware of your comments. Strictly speaking our staff do not eat until the end of the cruise. Unfortunately the entertainer (not our staff) did take a quick break with a bite to eat and will assure us that she will not do that again. In reference to her moving around, she cannot carry her sound equipment with her, so this is not an option. We now have restructured the dining layout to accommodate for premium seats upstairs near the entertainment and people less keen to sit near the entertainment may opt for a less costly price seats/tables. All the staff; our management, floor supervisors and general staff have been made aware of your review and have all made particular note of their attire and presentation of self. Once again we do thank you for your full list of comments. Some of these comments have been very valuable and we have made notes for the next Mother's Day Luncheon Cruise. We have run over 900 extremely successful cruises in the last 8 years and have thousands of clients and extremely happy customers. We hope that you may join us on another cruise and perhaps enjoy the atmosphere, excellent service and excellent food we are so well known for in Melbourne.

Food was totally average, in fact it wasn't food/meal- it was pre packaged frozen "food" which may have been okay except there was 4 people serving it to 250 people across two floors off trays- we only know this because we had to chase them down to get anything. Appreciated a free champagne, don't bother with the beer- horrible. We had to wait over an hour for the "downstairs groups" turn- one dodgy staircase and 250 people trying to swap- scary and totally unsafe !! The show itself was average, quick and the area over packed. Some people didn't get to sit down and those toward the back wouldn't have seen a thing. There were funny moments during the show and the girls did their best I am sure. I wouldn't do it again !! Positive : nice toilets for a boat/cruise !

Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback and feel we can learn from it. We advertise our Burlesque Cruises as a total experience of cruise, show, with food and drinks the food is advertised as "substantial cocktail food served all night" and here is the list of canapés both hot and cold that are served during the cruise. Appetiser A Trio of Mediterranean Dips, bowls of green and black olives, served with freshly baked Turkish and pita breads (GF) (V) Fresh cold hors-d’oeuvres Traditional Japanese Nori rolls of teriyaki chicken, fresh salmon, tuna, snow crab and avocado, tempura prawns and vegetarian all served with wasabi, pickled ginger and soy sauce (GF) (V) Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls with Crisp Spring Vegetables, roasted cashews, served with soy based dipping sauce (V) Hot hors-d’oeuvres Our famous Mini Burger includes a succulent beef pattie made with fresh herbs and onion, served in a sesame seed roll with fresh lettuce, Tasmanian tasty cheese, green pickle and tomato relish Wood Fired Italian miniature Pizzas with a selection of Traditional Italian roasted vegetables, salami and the very popular Hawaiian version (V) A selection of Vietnamese Prawn and Vegetable Spring Rolls served with sweet chilli and soy dipping sauces (V) Hand rolled Pumpkin, Feta and Thyme Risotto balls served with aioli sauce (V) Spanish Style Chicken Drummettes served with a fabulous fresh avocado and red bell pepper dipping sauce (GF) Maldon Salt and Cracked Pepper Calamari Curls served with a homemade tartare sauce Steamed Chinese Gyoza of Ginger and Prawn, Chive and Prawn, plus Asian vegetables options served with a soy dipping sauce (V) We agree with you that this is not a meal, nor is it intended to be, however, during last Friday's Cruise we experienced above normal rush on the food being served and some people were waiting outside the galley (kitchen) taking more than one serve of each item. We don't like anyone to go hungry so we brought out additional food from our reserves, such as spring rolls and potato wedges with dipping sauce. This may have appeared to you like too much deep fried food, and I am sorry for that but we were trying to do the best we could do in the circumstances. I agree that the cruise was packed with 250 people and normally this would not be over 200 with 100 upstairs watching the show and 100 downstairs with the DJ, Bar and Lounge area. We did get about 40 extra people, which were not expected on the night and this put everyone under pressure. I do apologise and if you would like to return on another night, I can offer you a free ticket. Capt Jeff

We would like to believe that we are open to new experiences and were really looking forward to a great night out. Firstly, the way there guest were assembled on the dock waiting to board should have given us some insight on what was coming. There was no order or direction from the crew just 260 people all bunched up trying to board on one gangway. This particular cruise was a Burlesque Show so most of the audience was in good spirits. Once aboard they started serving the finger food, which was served by the crew on platters, I was absolutely amazed at the behaviour of the guests, it was like watching seagulls fighting over discarded chips. After managing to reach a plate with food still on it we needn't have bothered it was frozen packet garbage that any self respecting seagull would turn its nose up at. Never mind we still had the show to look forward to. The guest were split into two groups upstairs and downstairs and the show was repeated on the upper level with the guests having to swap after the first show. With only one internal staircase used to facilitate the exchange the crush was on and we had genuine concerns about safety.
We have been to a Burlesque show before in Sydney, so we new what we could expect but this was really very ordinary.
All in all really very poor value for money and a waste of a night.

Thank you for your review on Trip Advisor, we take a lot of notice of what people have to say and try to learn from their comments. You have raised some important points. The lining up before departure appeared to you to be chaotic The Captain did do a Safety Announcement, and explained what would be happening on the cruise, maybe you missed it. People were boarded in an orderly manner, each person had to be checked for their ticket, whether they had purchased a drink package and some tickets had to be scanned. We had everyone onboard within half an hour and departed on time at around 7:30pm. I agree that everyone was in a good mood and certainly those that I spoke to on the night during and after the cruise were having a great time. The show is just part of the event, the Cruise, the food and the Dancing make up some of the rest of the experience. I agree with you also that some people seemed very hungry and acted in a poor manner during the service of food. We advertise the food as "substantial Cocktail food coming out all night" and here is what was served. Appetiser A Trio of Mediterranean Dips, bowls of green and black olives, served with freshly baked Turkish and pita breads (GF) (V) Fresh cold hors-d’oeuvres Traditional Japanese Nori rolls of teriyaki chicken, fresh salmon, tuna, snow crab and avocado, tempura prawns and vegetarian all served with wasabi, pickled ginger and soy sauce (GF) (V) Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls with Crisp Spring Vegetables, roasted cashews, served with soy based dipping sauce (V) Hot hors-d’oeuvres Our famous Mini Burger includes a succulent beef pattie made with fresh herbs and onion, served in a sesame seed roll with fresh lettuce, Tasmanian tasty cheese, green pickle and tomato relish Wood Fired Italian miniature Pizzas with a selection of Traditional Italian roasted vegetables, salami and the very popular Hawaiian version (V) A selection of Vietnamese Prawn and Vegetable Spring Rolls served with sweet chilli and soy dipping sauces (V) Hand rolled Pumpkin, Feta and Thyme Risotto balls served with aioli sauce (V) Spanish Style Chicken Drummettes served with a fabulous fresh avocado and red bell pepper dipping sauce (GF) Maldon Salt and Cracked Pepper Calamari Curls served with a homemade tartare sauce Steamed Chinese Gyoza of Ginger and Prawn, Chive and Prawn, plus Asian vegetables options served with a soy dipping sauce (V) Whilst this is a lot of food, it is not a meal and is not intended to be. We realised during the event that due to people taking more than one piece of each dish as it came out, that some were not getting served so brought out extra food including spring rolls and potato wedges. I think that being on the water makes people sometimes very hungry and we always try to supply enough food, but on this occasion we accept that it was less than ideal. For the Burlesque cruises we normally only have 200 people, (100 upstairs and 100 downstairs) the ship is licensed to carry 360 so we were in no way near our limit, however 40 extra people arrived than we expected on the night and this made it all a bit tight. I can only apologise on behalf of the Captain and crew for your poor experience onboard.

I took mum on the Lady Cutler for lunch today. We departed half an hour late and then arrived back 45 minutes early cutting our cruise down to 2 hours in total when it was supposed to be a 3 hour cruise. Food was average, too much deep fried food and there wasn't enough food at the Buffet to go round so i missed out on getting any meat.
The route was disappointing, all we saw were other boats (big ugly courier boats) and shipping containers. Very crappy view. Would've been better off doing a cruise on the yarra.

Dear Natasha, we are very sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your experience onboard as we try hard to please everyone. I was the Captain on the day so know a little about the cruise. It was a 3 hour cruise, scheduled from 11:30am to 2:30pm and people came aboard at 11:30am and everyone was onboard & seated by 12:00noon. We were ready to depart, however we waited for 10 minutes as an older couple celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary were running late. I did make an announcement about this and apologised for getting away late, perhaps you missed it. We cruised from Docklands to Williamstown through the Port of Melbourne, which people usually find very interesting, but I understand that maybe it wasn't for you. There are large ships, docks, cranes and tugs to be seen and two large bridges to go under. The views to the City from Hobsons Bay near Williamstown are simply the best. Perhaps you missed it. I try to speak personally to everyone when they depart the ship and without exception they all said they had had a lovely cruise and lunch. I must have missed you and your mum. Once again please accept our apology.

Well what can I say, we were given this as a Red Balloon experience gift! We arrived at the pier and ship didn't look too flash from the outside. We were showed to our table for two down one level. Absolutely lovely, very comfortable couch for two with table covered in a crisp fresh white tablecloth. There were five other tables of two, lots of room quite impressive! From the time we took off from the dock, the food just kept coming, absolutely delicious! Between courses we walked out around the boat to enjoy the scenery and beautiful sunshine! Staff were fantastic, very attentive, would highly recommend and we will certainly book again.

Disappointing experience. Overcrowded and expensive drinks and food. Wine starting at $36 per bottle but most over $50. Food, potato wedges $10 per serve for a handful. All we saw in four hours were the container ships and industrial areas of the Yarra River. As tourists to the city this was disappointing. Plus it was freezing and no available seats vacant indoors...
