We cycled from St Kilda to Yarra Bend and enjoyed it. It is a pity that so much of it is a shared trail with walkers - be especially careful on the sections near schools where the youngsters walk three abreast! Also be careful of the other cyclists who pass you at great speed without warning you.

We just did the Capital City Trail - it was AWESOME! Just follow the signs, all very easy, smooth ride. Stopped along the way at GreenPark cafe for a coffee but would be the perfect stop for lunch/brunch/ice cream popup shop. Was a diverse ride and a wonderful way to see the city. You don't need a mountain bike to... More

We love walking and this is a lovely walking trail with changing scenery. Walked it everyday we were in Melbourne and everyday we could still find something unique that we had not noticed before.

Rivers, farms, paddocks, parks, streams, bush land, city sights, the dock lands, promenades, fast sections, slow sections, busy at times and tranquil others and always beautiful (except for a small section near Kensington); this trail has it all. As a note my GPS mapped the trail at about 31 km long so it is a fair hike for the inexperienced.... More

We often do the circle of Melbourne using this trail. It is lovely as you pass through some lovely inner city locations. Merri creek has a long history with the industrial past of Melbourne, and while it is still suffering from the effects that occurred a long while ago, it is still picturesque. It is a pretty easy trail to... More

The trail occupies the route of the old Inner Circle railway line and links many interesting parks along the way. It crosses three tram lines and joins two railway lines at its ends. Whether you want to go end to end or just a little a bit, you can get to/from by public tranbsport. If you have a longer journey... More

I recently picked up cycling as a hobby and tried out the Capital City Trail. I was only able to do half of it since I just started, but it's a lovely route. You really get in touch with nature and see a lot of beautiful sights along the way. It's doable enough for a beginner, but it also has... More

A lovely ride around Melbourne and suburbs. Great to take in the sights and sounds. Fairly easy ride all the way, on a couple of small hilly bits. Do it!

A fun, 29km loop taking in some lovely sights, and a viewpoint of Melbourne you wouldn't normally see. Abbotsford convent makes a good lunch spot.

lf you are in need of some exercise, site seeing or just fresh air, get onto the capital city trail. Its a big long trail, so depending on time and mode of transport will dictate how far you get. its safe and popular.

Thank Edward J
