This excellent tour is enjoyable and informative. It is lovely to look into a some of the buildings, as the interior is not what you would expect. One building that is especially beautiful, is the Gothic ANZ building. And the adjoining Cathedral Room, is amazing. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and passionate about Melbourne's history. And, she patiently answered all... More

On a cold winters Melbourne morning my husband and I were the only two on what turned out to be a private tour with Isabel. What an interesting experience it was! We are Melbourne locals born and bred but who'd have known there are so many hidden treasures tucked into, and still surviving in modern Melbourne. Because we are locals... More

Flagged as 2 hours it will take a lot longer if you stop to read the information about each of the buildings. Also we went into many of them (got asked to leave some as they were private clubs or companies). Use the APP then you can do a bit of the walk and then come back to it later.... More

Dear Pail-N-Cris Thanks for your review here , unfortunately you have reviewed the App, or self guided map here, ( not our fully hosted guided walk ) and yes if you try and do it yourself it will take a lot longer. Our Golden Mile Heritage Walk is offered in 2 segments, East and West, and with expert guides you... More

This is more like two miles than one mile as it starts at the Immigration Museum (Old Custom;s House) in Flinders Street and finishes at the Royal Exhibition Buildings. You follow gold small circles in the footpath and the big circle with a number and Golden MIle symbol on it is usually an heritage listed building. There is a book... More

Dear Peter M Thank you for your notes here. This is the page for the actual guided tour, and there is certainly some confusion with the dots, but rest assured our guides do this tour in two halves.. Weekdays the west end, and on weekends the Eastern end.. its a long walk otherwise - as a guided tour. Thank you... More

My sister & I stumbled upon the Golden Mile discs one day in Melbourne and googled what it was all about. The next week, we did the walk, using the Museum Victoria's app. The guided walk was brilliant- we loved having the independence to make 'detours' for coffee stops and further exploration!!
