We stopped off briefly here with Freddy's bike tour of Melbourne. The gardens are so lovely with so many different species of flowers and plants. The cottage is Devine as is the building that houses the gardens and also the surrounds. Highly recommended.

I love coming here to think and watch nature, there are really nice walks and its so big you take up like 3 hours. It has a good variety and it is really clean.

Lovely and large gardens - very peaceful. Temple of the winds offers nice view of MCG. Fern Gully project after phase one is lovely and will probably get even better after completion of next phases. Had a picnic and relaxed. Perfect spot for it in Melbourne.

This is the most wonderful time we have in the town , in Royal Botanic garden. We spend half of the day in this beautiful garden. If you are visiting Melbourne, time some time to be in this garden, you will know , how great is our God.

This is a great example of what a botanical garden can be like. Collections of plants carefully planted, tended and labelled, yet at the same time a place for relaxation. Lawns and lakes, places to sit, refreshments and views. There's a herbarium on site for serious botany, but you can also celebrate plant-life in other ways. Besides the general well... More

A wonderfully tranquil exceptionally well tended garden with a myriad of botanical delights. One of the best gardens in the world! A place to get pleasantly lost in away from the hustle and bustle of the world.

Beautiful gardens with long, well-maintained paths that do an excellent job of explaining Australian flora. Easy stroll, with plenty of restrooms, spotted about. Just a short and very pleasant walk from Southbank. Watch out though: The tea room closes early. We missed prime blooming time, but it was still beautiful.

What a great place, a bit of everything here with a really naturals feel. Some great Oak species and the Clivias were amazing at the end of September . Check out the "Volcano" and the Eels in the lake . Cafe near the lake was Ok.
