The botanic gardens are a great place to spend an afternoon. Lots of lovely walkways, a lily pond as well as the main lake and plenty of informative signs about what is growing. The gardens are also within easy reach of the shrine of remembrance, and queen Victoria gardens.

Spent a few hours with my husband walking around the Gardens, they are stunning including the many specimen trees. There are several lakes to walk around and plenty of maps around the area should you get lost.

Melbourne is really great for parks - and the royal botanic gardens are had to miss as they are right in the center of the city. Great place to catch some pokemon too !

Whether you just want to relax and have a picnic with your family or friends, or even take a stroll alone, it is one of the most Idyllic places in Melbourne. Such a diversity of plant species makes one gasp in amazement of their beauty.

This place doesn't have amazing views or an out of the world beauty, but it's serene and big enough to spend an evening walking around the park. Well maintained, not too crowded (generally) and very friendly staff members. You could also see hisense arena from within or step out to walk around the Australian open courts, as a bonus. Not... Must visit the place. Entry is free. Try to spend a min of half day to walk around. It's well-maintained garden and a very scenic garden. Unbelievable.

Melbourne is blessed to have the Royal Botanical Gardens, they are so beautiful and a great place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the city. To just walk through the gardens is an experience in itself, the beautiful fragrances of the flowers and plants is so relaxing. The lake and large open grassed areas are perfect for that... More
