A beautiful place with a lot of species of fishes in the Aquarium, a place where you could spend time in the weekend. If you require discount tickets you can check out more in RACV website.

I took my Grand children to Melbourne Aquarium and they loved it. A bit on the expensive side but a very enjoyable day.

Really interesting with heaps of various sea animals. The aquarium entry fees are quite expensive but there is plenty to see. Although there are a few stairs, if you struggle with that kind of thing lifts are also available. There are a few presentations about different animals and is very little kid friendly ☺

I couldn't recommend it enough, my 2 year old had a great time, only negative thing was the parking..I had to pay $65 for two hours to park across the road.

I do recommend this place but it's not that special. It's certainly near the bottom of my list compared to the other aquariums I have been to in Japan, New Zealand, and Sydney. If you haven't been to an aquarium it will give you a good taste and there are lots of activities for the kids and sometimes special programs... More

Easily worth admission. Best sea life type place we have ever been to. Water is over you and around you like you are swimming with the sea rays, sharks and turtles, etc. Very cool place and we didn't even bring children! We have snorkeled and scuba dived many times and this place was very cool! I LOVED the penguin area... More

Although expensive to get in, the kids had a great time looking at all the sea life. There is a hands on section where they can touch a starfish and feel the shells.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
