This was a half day trip to the coast of southern Australia to see an amazing event that occurs nightly! I was torn between this trip and another. Although I did both trips, this was my favorite. Well woth the money to do the ranger led tour. A memory maker. I wish all my group had been able to go... More

This was a really fun tour - our driver, Robert, was very informative and showed us some of the wildlife on Phillips Island. After our trip he was kind enough to drive us directly back to our rental. Our private guide during the penguin parade was good as well. I highly recommend rain gear and warm jackets in case the... More

My sister was visiting from New York, first time in Australia. I booked her for a penguin tour and I wasn't disappointed. Neither was my sister. Even though she was the only person booked for the date, the company ran the tour. They were friendly, communicated with me throughout (letting me know first the tour might not take place, then... We did the express tour to Phillip Island to see the Penguin Parade. We were picked up at a central meeting place in the city around 2pm and were dropped off to our hotel at the end of the night around 10pm. This tour is essentially roundtrip transport (about 2 hours each way) to Phillip Island and admission tickets to... More

Nikki was our guide and she was bubbly, hyper and very knowledgeable. She was determined to show us the kangaroo hideouts an even lie on the floor board at the noobies to show us the penguins. She knows her stuffs well! We had a great time with the little penguin bus tour and of cos the highlight of the show... More

Just got dropped off at my hotel in Melbourne. I had a wonderful time on the Little Penguin Bus tour! I did the afternoon "direct" tour, which was just under 8 hours long (2pm to a bit before 10pm). David was a terrific guide -- I learned a ton about Melbourne, the surrounding area, and of course the wildlife on... More

I took a private tour with the Little Penguin Bus to the St. Kilda, Brighton beaches as well as the Dandenong ranges (Puffing Billy) and it was great. I had been planning this privately requested trip with the owner Mac who was every ready to reply to my emails and offered me tremendous help and support. He was with me... More

Amazing experience! Everything from the comfort of the bus, to the service (blanket included for the penguin parade), to the greatest guide ever Bruce (568 tours to Philip Island, can you believe that?!?) made our day excellent!! We also saw some wild kangaroos apart from the penguins, wallabies, koalas etc etc! Highly recommended to everyone!! Grazie!!! Guido and Rosanna

A nice route from Melbourne to the Phillip Island Penguin Parade with pleasant stops along the way providing chances to see kangaroo, wallaby, koala, echidna, various birds and some lovely coastline. Our guide seemed appropriately knowledgable and even took us to an out-of-the-way spot to get us a look at some Gray Kangaroo in the wild. To my personal taste,... More

Hi Reactor_boy. Thanks so much for sharing your Wild Island Tour experience here. I absolutely agree, your tour guide is a huge part of the success of any tour. I'm happy to say that the people I have working for me largely get nothing but positive responses. But I also understand that personalities sometimes just don't "gel", as has appeared... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
