Decided to go Ice skating with family & friends (including young children).. It was a great idea that turned into a great night. You can skate for as long as you want whilst dancing and skating to the music that is on the large screen. Remember it's quite cool in there however you get warmed up pretty quick when your... More

This is the first time I visit this place. Even in winter, this place is still popular for kids. There are a lot of people on ice and you need to watch the "traffic" and be careful... It is good to see there are staffs with first aid kit skate around and help people. The overall experience is quite good.... More

A wonderland for the kids. Just learning to ice skate the kids were provided support aids until they were confident enough to go it alone. A great time had by the whole family, thank you to the wonderful staff for their help and support.

You can head to the Ice Rink to watch the Ice Hockey (Melbourne Ice or Melbourne Mustangs), learn how to skate, play ice hockey or curling or get together with friends and have a skate with some music pumping. Great for all ages with aids for young children to sit on or hold onto until they get the hang of... More

I attended the arena as part of a friend's daughter's 8 year birthday party. The party hosts girls provided by the arena were very friendly. We had over 20 children and during the lesson, the teacher-student ration was not enough. It was very hard to hear the girls screeching over the background noise. One had to hire the push-along "seals"... More

I guess it's inevitable when you pretty much have a monopoly in Melbourne but the running of this place is a mess. It is not a cheap outing and we arrived to find that only one of the rinks could be used. Five minutes later, they put up a barrier in that one rink (for curling) so everyone was crammed... More

I took my niece (8) and nephew (6) today and it turned out to be a pretty expensive experience. It was $63 entry/hire + $5 locker hire + $3 x 2 to hire steel frames to assist skating & $7 parking. $81 total for an hour on the ice. I've ice skated a couple of times before but sadly these... More

If you want to skate in Melbourne, this is the place. Two rinks, a cafe and a gym. So if you have kids going here you can relax in the cafe or get fit in the gym. It provides programs year round for skating, ice hockey and curling. So everyone from beginners to experienced skaters are catered for. It is... More

O'Brien arena has everything from wonderballz to an ice skating disco! We went with the intention of a pretty basic ice skating rink and were impressed with the karoke music (we belted out a few songs) but the wonderballz absolutely took the cake. I think the wonderballz only run in the school holidays from 12-3pm, if you're there its worth... More
