Paid a visit to this market last week. After visiting Victoria market I was told this place offers more varied shops/stalls. Whereas VM is more touristy this market feels more local and offers more second hand stalls and more food. Nice enough market to spend...More

Went here with no expectations and spent half a day here. Great shopping, eating and buying for fresh food. Sensational atmosphere and worth a quick tram ride or leisurely 30 min walk from cbd.

South Melbourne
South Melbourne hosts the city’s oldest continuous
market, founded in 1867. Rows of neatly arranged
fruit, vegetables and flowers splash yellows, greens
and reds along the entire perimeter, where the whole
neighborhood gathers for Saturday feasts. Inside the
hall, shoppers hover over the mouth-watering displays
of delicatessens and specialty food shops. Further in,
a bazaar full of giftware, clothing, and kitchen
