Located at the MCG, the National Sports Museum presents world-class exhibitions of significant sporting artefacts. The museum houses the Australian Gallery of Sport and Olympic Museum, Sport Australia Hall of Fame, Australian Cricket Hall of Fame, Australian Football Hall of Fame, Champions - Thoroughbred Racing Gallery and temporary exhibition areas addressing the sporting issues and events of the day. Interactive and audiovisual displays enhance the visitor experience. The National Sports Museum also manages the MCG Tours. This is a vibrant, exciting and attractive mix of sporting information, cultural heritage, and interactive entertainment. The National Sports Museum serves the MCG's match-day patronage, as well as catering for families, schools, seniors and tourist groups, seven days weekly.

Fantastic museum, allow at least 2 hours to see. Great tour to be taken with Melbourne Cricket Ground tour. Spent all day doing both.

Great place to visit if you love your sports! Pretty much covered every sport, a history of the MCG and the footy stuff. Excellent interactive area where you can try your hand at footy, cricket, netball and even archery!

National sports museum was fantastic. Some updating of info is definitely required. Would be great if kids could have listening tour...we were told no!! Olympic exhibition was fantastic and my daughter loved it. Visiting school children were a little on obnoxious side...avoid if possible. AFL...More

I didn't realise how big the sports museum is and how many sports it covers. I spent alot of time looking at the AFL section, the hall of fame and also the legends section. Well worth the time.
