Great guide, Alberto, in both tours. Knowledgeable and complete info. Very good experience. GOR is a long trip but it is worthwhile with Alberto.

We had expected a small private tour in a comfortable vehicle. When the van arrived at our hotel we asked how many in the party, yes small only 7 people, but we were to be crammed in an 8 seater minibus for 12 hours. We decided not to go, and reading the perhaps more accurate TripAdvisor reports of terrible, it... More

We took the Great Ocean Road tour with Frank, it was just what we wanted, everything in a day. Frank was full of information and everything went very smoothly. There were only 8 of us in the van and we arrived at all the stops in advance of the larger coaches. Saw kangaroos and koalas as well at one of... More

Our group was very happy with the tour provided by Kirstin [--] of Oceania tours. She was very considerate and very generous with her time. She was able to arrange the tour to suit the interests of the group. She gave us an extra hour because we wanted to stop and visit a synagogue. She knows her history and her... More

We had a great day trip down the Great Ocean Road with our driver, Frank. He had so much information to share about the area. It was our first day in Australia so we had lots of questions. The small group tour is wonderful. We saw Kangaroos and Koalas along with many birds in the wild. The 12 Apostle area... More

We used this company to take a Tour of Philip Island. The tour starts in the late afternoon since the little penguins do not come out of the water until 9 pm (or so). It is a nice, small group and the tour guide we had was excellent. She provided great tips the entire trip: from where to grab a... More

Thanks for your review and advice for other travelers.. Yes, you are correct - we alter the tour time to reflect the arrival time of the penguins (they have their own clock!). Great to hear that you enjoyed the Penguin Parade, it's very special. More

I ended up booking a tour with Oceania Tours & Safaris very last minute on Sunday afternoon for the following day - it was great that this could be arranged at such short notice. It was probably a bit of a splurge money-wise as it was a private tour but it's personalised to your preferences and what you would like... More

Fred picked us up very near our apt and took us out for this totally amazing trip. He made us laugh telling us wonderful stories and described everything we saw en route. We stopped at a Koala reserve and then he took us to the Nobbies which was amazing and really wild that day. After dinner we saw the Penguin... More

From pick up to drop off our guide Fred was knowledgeable, witty, personable and very passionate about Melbourne which all added to the tour experience. Thank you Fred, would like to see the photo you took of our group. Is it on a particular website? All the best Julie and David.

We booked through Oceania for our great ocean road trip - our guide frank was brilliant. It's a long day trip but definitely worth it, saw some fantastic sights and the group tours are in not too bigger groups. It was nice to spend some time with the group and without them during the day.

Great to hear that you enjoyed your Great Ocean Road trip. Agreed, it's a longer day trip than most, but it's well worth it to see the 12 Apostles. Fabulous that you enjoyed your personalised experience with Frank and the small group. More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
