I have been to more Shakespearean performances than I can remember, in the US, Europe and Australia and this MTC version of Macbeth is breathtakingly brilliant and by far the best I have seen. The acting was perfect, the music amazing, the mood transfixing. I...More

Was keen to see play by the Melbourne Theatre Company . This is its home base and was lucky enough to see Macbeth . There are sandwiches and light snacks to be had at the theatre or there is Blondie's next door . You can...More

Sharing the same building as the Melbourne Recital Centre, the Southbank Theatre ironically is less orderly than its neighbour but nonetheless charming in its manner. Taking an informal approach to admitting theatre goers to the show, we soon adapted to this set up by joining...More

My best mate and I went see this new realisation of the 60s classic. And what a fun time it was! I've long been a fan of Shaun Micallef, and he didn't disappoint. Frances Greenslade was equally as fine, and the entire ensemble really brought...More

We were attracted by the combo of Micallef and Greenslade from their other comedic offerings. The show was good but there were only some parts that really sparkled. For instance the first half of the second act where Micallef's physical slapstick was just superb. When...More

My beloved and I thought the Odd Couple would be fabulous , considering the cast , all of whom we adore from their prior work on TV and stage. We flew and accommodated very frugally. We turned up on Saturday arvo to discover SHOW CANCELLED...More

Latest masterpiece by Joanna Murray Smith. Captivating dialogue and superb acting. Set was well designed and lighting added to the effect. Good use of background music to help build suspense. Thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Glad to hear you enjoyed 'Jasper Jones'! It was wonderful sharing Kate Mulvany's adaptation of Craig Silvey's novel with Melbourne, and we've been thrilled with the response. Hope to see you at the theatre again soon!
