Interesting cruise, got to know some history esp of the bridges but can’t get enough of it. Cruise lasted for an hour only because the boat was moving 5mph. Can’t help comparing it with the harbour cruise in Sydney where it’s more fun.

We had a lovely time enjoying the views of Melbourne from the Yarra River, the views of the river banks downstream towards the Bolte Bridge are great. The staff were professional and friendly and the service was great, a nice way to spend the afternoon catching up with friends before Christmas.

The sunshine was beautiful and the waters gentle. The commentary was pathetic, poor information and we could hardly understand the speaker. The speaker and the 'Captain' lacked personality and did not show any enthusiasm. Nothing much to look at - they should extend the trip and go past some of the beautiful homes further upstream.

As it was a very hot day, we thought going on a river cruise might offer a nice breeze but unfortunately it was a very still dry heat. The boat is pretty old and not particularly nice. It's big with seats in a line like a picture theatre. We were told there was a deck out back with seating, I think that was an exaggeration. They serve tea or coffee which on a 39d day was not that welcome. They would have been better to offer free water instead rather than charge $3 a bottle. The young man doing the commentary struggled with a microphone that was running out of battery and his accent wasn't that easy to understand. We did both cruises up and down the Yarra river which were pretty ordinary. We had been spoilt from doing the Brisbane river cruise which was so interesting with lots to see. We got the impression the captain/owner was struggling to make a decent profit and upgrading of the boat wasn't an option.

Booked via their website, told a couple of hours before, the cruise was cancelled. Promised a refund, still waiting 4 weeks later!
