Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.

    A tiny bit of heaven
What a fabulous little hidden gem this place is. The best flight of gin I have ever had and my purchase of a bottle of the Ginger Mick gin will be savoured. Great service, a intriguing history it is a must see for tourists and locals alike!

    Gorgeous tiny historical bar
Love this cute tiny bar. Its so small that only a few people can fit inside. We were lucky to get the table just outside the entrance. We had the warm gin as it was a cold afternoon. Its an absolute must to visit for a drink. Its the only original house left in Melbourne CBD and very historical. Service was excellent too.

    Great building, great gin
Fabulous place to visit. A lovely historic building with great staff who can discuss both the history of the site and the wonderful gins. My friend and I went to Australia vowing not to risk bringing any bottles back that had to go in our hold luggage but this went out of the window when we tried the gin paddle and discovered Proudfoot. Fortunately both our bottles survived two lots of baggage handling.

Loved this experience, a mixture of local history and the Gin process and tasting. Great space to enjoy as a small group of friends or a larger outdoor space for bigger group’s. Masterclass is a winner.

What a fantastic hidden gem! we went here as part of an Urban Adventure and I would never have know about it otherwise. The gins were great and a great price for a tasting board. Beautiful building hidden in new buildings.

This is a gem in a hidden location. The history of the area is just as interesting as the process of making different types of gin. Could usefully be combined with a visit to Old Melbourne Gaol.

We visited late one night hoping to try some of the amazing gin we had read about. I’m not a gin lover what so ever so was a bit nervous but It was AMAZING ! Cocktails were delicious the staff were super friendly and talked to us about the history of the building and the gin names. Defiantly a must visit when in this area of town. Thanks for changing my mind about gun guys !

We dropped into here during a tour explaining the history of the area. While the history was interesting so too was the present. The Gin was divine. Pop in for a drink if you’re in the area. You won’t be disappointed.
