My friend took me to the public gallery to see the Liberals, Labor and the Greens debating child protection, public service pay rises, use of the Wilderness, and other important issues. It's free for all, and sometimes becomes a free-for-all, and there is a live webcast...More

We were looking for parking. For 5$ we could leave our rental car till 4 P.M. What a great offer. It is then that I recognized the Parliament House. It was huge and it looked like a colonial home. It has a park in front...More

We were staying in a hotel directly opposite this building. Although it clearly possesses historical significance, it isn’t particularly impressive in itself, with a very derivative colonial style about it.

This is the political center of Tasmania. Although full of history, the building itself is not particularly remarkable. Unfortunately we did not have the chance to go inside.

This is one of the oldest municipal buildings in Hobart and one of the most important from the Van Diemans Land days - a great view from the harbour and well worth a look

This historic building dates back to Van Dieman's Land days and if you are fortunate enough to see through the history is well presented and evident particularly in the basement. The Upper and Lower Houses are small but also interesting.

The Parliament House is a grand building next to Salamanca Place where they have the hectic markets. It’s nice to wander by and the grounds are lovely. Many people enjoy the grassy lawn for a break. Have a peek when you do the Salamanca Markets.
