A beautifully presented historical house with an amazing collection of artefacts true to the era. The original wallpapers are amazing and there’s lots of interesting information about the inhabitants.

If you are visiting Hobart, don’t miss this historic house as it really fills in a part of the jigsaw puzzle of the social history of the penal colony. Not only is the house full of Georgian furniture and items, but it tells so much...More

An excellent way of finding out lots about Hobart's early history. As a teacher I have taken school trips there and they love it. Highly recommend.

It also gives you an insight into the convicts who were assigned to the owner. They must have been difficult to work for given the number of convicts they returned.

We were strolling through the historical streets of Battery Point when we noticed Narryna Heritage Museum which gives a great insight into the early convict lives serving the wealthy Haigh family & the completely different lifestyles both endured in the early 19th century.
