Step inside Australia's oldest operating brewery, nestled at the foot of the majestic Mount Wellington, to learn how Cascade has been crafting beer since 1832. Our guides will share Cascade's fabled recipe; a dash of history, a healthy dose of Tasmania's finest ingredients and a generous serve of brewing craft. You can take a tour or just relax and enjoy Cascade beers and Mercury ciders, savour a delicious lunch and wander our three acres of heritage gardens.

The Visitor Centre is open 7 days a week between 10am - 5pm, excluding Good Friday and Christmas day and tours operate daily.

My husband did the tour so I took the kids to eat and look around the gardens. Meal was great and very good service. Staff very friendly. Gardens were just beautiful. Lots of pretty flowers and kept kids amused running around all the paths for close to an hour.

The brewery is in a gorgeous setting. The garden being a lovely place to have a bite to eat and a drink. I opted for the tasting plate of beers which were all delicious. We only went for a small shared plate which was excellent. The food I saw looked great Unfortunately we didn't have time for a tour of... More

The best attraction to see in Hobart is the home to Cascade Brewery. Built in the 1800s and still standing today and producing the same beer. A fantastic in depth guided tour through the brewery on their history and production. Walk back across the road for free beer tasting in the restaurant. Beautiful gardens to enjoy with a Jazz band... Wow what a fantastic tour, we had Sam as our guide, he was excellent. Interacted with everyone, am sure everyone in our group enjoyed it. His sense of humour was very much appreciated. Will recommend this tour for everyone.

The summary of the tour is you go on a walking tour of the brewery across the road and then come back for a tasting...and all for 20 bucks..done...I'm not crazy about beer but it still was a must...very funny commentary by the tour guide and very informative...we went when the factory was t running which is better because of... Sunday afternoons are Jazz afternoons, absolutely beautiful spot to sit in the sun, enjoy a few beers, some pleasant conversation and a lovely assortment of live music. The backdrop of the picturesque brewery building just adds to the atmosphere, and the gardens are wonderful to wander round. Well worth a trip to spend a few hours away from the busy... More

We didn't do the tour but visited the restaurant and had a lovely meal in the garden whilst trying some of their beers. All meals were lovely. The gardens are great to sit in whilst eating your lunch.

On the way back from Mount Wellington we ducked into the cascade brewery for a coffee and a brew. The visitor's centre is a nicely appointed building and garden located across the road and with a view of the brewery and mount wellington. We didn't have time to take a tour, and instead took a table outside and the staff... More

I didn't do the tour but I saw a wonderful play about Sophia Degraves, the wife of Peter Degraves, the builder of the Cascade Brewery and the Theatre Royal in Hobart. Sadly I was the only one in the audience but the play, which runs for 40 minutes, was totally engaging and well-acted by mother and son. It is a very... More

We did a group visit to the Cascade Brewery. There is plenty of options for food and drink and the gardens are lovely to wonder around in. We did the tour which was alot of fun and learnt alot. The tour guide was a little cranky, but other than her the rest of the staff where very pleasant and welcoming
