Had an excellent day out with Peter from Tassie Tours. He made sure we saw as much as we could of the island in the time available , interspersed with great tasting stops. I recommend the Oysters from Get Shucked and the lunches at Bruny Hotel offer great value for money and generous portions. If you have time when you are in Hobart this tour is a must.

Back in the late 1800s men and women endured so much hardship to build a railway where a railway had no right to be. Now in the 21st Century we can sit back in luxury and enjoy food and wine whilst a trust engine hauls us through spectacular terrain. All the time one is attended to by eager and very helpful staff whilst the driver and assistant skilfully take safely from start to finish. The scenery is unbelievable and the realisation of the hardships our ancestors endured to build such a railway will always stand as a testament to them. The whole experience was excellent and if you do not do it it will be your great loss.

We booked Tassie Tours via Expedia as booking tours from the Cruise was quite expensive. Eithan is a wonderful tour guide and also managed to take us to a few extra places in Port Aurthur in that time duration. We would definitely recommend as well as book them again if we ever back in Tasmania again. Thank you Eithan.

Tour overall was just ok, area at the lighthouse is gorgeous. However, this felt more like a charter service, the guide has a good sense of humour but that’s about it (I am comparing this against 2 other tours I went on where one had the guide accompany you through the entire bush walk in the cold, rain and wind; and the other had the guide sharing frequent commentaries as we drove along). We were only given 15 mins at the neck (imagine rushing up to snap photos then rushing back down again) and 30 minutes at the lighthouse. Then strangely we had 40 minutes at adventure bay which was merely a bare beach. Guide couldn’t preorder our lunch so we wasted 30 minutes just queuing and waiting for our food. Cheese shop is overrated, small with nothing much, all of my tour mates walked out empty handed. Didn’t get to try the oysters, not sure if it’s because the lunch wait was too long. Felt that we could’ve picked the oysters over the dismaying cheese.

Tassie Tours showed us the best of the island at a more moderate price than other operators. Our guide was very experienced & got us ahead of the other groups. Loved the walk along the stream & the bush there, the Neck, lighthouse site, etc. Cheese company disorganised and expensive, but lunch place terrific. Pity we missed the ferry - a busy Sunday at fault - despite getting there 25 mins before.

A long day, felt a bit rushed at times. But saw the major sites and tasted the local delights for much less cost than other tours that we met up with on the ferry there and back. Some of the tasting stops did not have toilets which after a beer with lunch could cause some to worry. The bus driver/tour guide also jokingly drove off leaving a passenger behind, of course coming back for him but most thought this a very unfunny and unnecessary joke. Overall, we saw and tasted what Bruny Island is known for after being picked up and dropped at our hotel. A big day and mostly enjoyable.

Had a fabulous experience, from the on line booking facility through to the actual trip down to Port Arthur. The driver/guide was one of the best, collected us on time and so helpful he even went out of his way to drop us off. Full of tips and anecdotes to keep everyone entertained throughout the morning. Highly recommend!

The bus we were taken in was not that clean and seemed very old. Althought the transfer was smooth and the driver was on time in both going and coming back from our bus stop location. Our driver was kind enough to stop at the Tasmanian arch to take some pics and he was superb in explaining things along the way. My only concern is the state of the bus which surprised me. Also, the price of the fare was slightly expensive given the state of the bus. I dont recommend Port Arthur if you don’t like history as it felt boring for me and there was nothing new to me

Bruny Island has so many beautiful places! On this tour we had lots of time to discover them. Andrew told us a couple of interesting stories about the island and made this tour a relaxing one. We were 20 people, but the big size of the group was not a problem. I highly recommend this tour! Bruny Island is very beautiful and worth to visit!!!

Probably one of the best tours I did in Tassie. Ben was an amazing tour guide who helped us really enjoy the full experience at Bruny from wildlife to food. He managed to help everyone enjoy their trip, where we could follow our food interests and have a little taste of everything. Ben also had lunch with us and was super cool to talk to. Look forward to when/ if he comes to Melbourne so we can show him around!
