What a marvelous walk from the Springs up the zig zag track. It had snowed the day before so track was covered in snow and ice what a magical experience. Anyone visiting during July August bring warm winter clothes and good walking shoes gloves and beanie. For photographers a winter wonderland awaits.

Beautiful & picturesque. Wonderful but make sure you rug up! It's a little chilly up there. Well worth the drive (although the roads are a little narrow)

Amazing views! Lots of places to stop on the way up. However be prepared for the cold wind and that the weather can change very quickly! Was too windy to take baby out of car so we took turns enjoying the view :-) Long steep and winding drive, take it easy and travel safely!

No visit to Hobart would be complete without a drive up to Mt Wellington. We always go in the hope of finding snow, and it seldom disappoints...must be one of the coldest places in Australia. They have toilets and a large sheltered lookout on the pinnacle now which provides a bit of relief from the cold as you enjoy the... More

Gorgeous views from the top and plenty of parking when you get there. Absolutely freezing though so take your woollies! Take the drive slow up the mountain; even though the roads are good there seemed to be lots of unsure drivers. Great photo ops of Hobart and there was even snow on the top!

it was magnificent and we got a clear view it was minus 2 but it was good and if you haven't seen snow it is the best place for it as there is allot on the mountain we recommend the afternoon tour as there is a better chance of seeing snow and less cloud coverage.

Well worth the drive to the summit. If you are lucky enough for the cloud to clear, the views are spectacular. Be sure to take a warm jacket. It can be cold all year round.

Unfortunately we did not get to see the views from the top as cloud and freezing winds made this viewing a little disappointing. On a clear day this veiwpoint would be spectacular. On a not so good day I can easily see how it could snow in summer, I think we nearly came close this day. Still a great place... More

We left the airport by car and within 50 minutes we were on top of Mount Wellington. As we approached we saw the organ pipes rock formation and a dusting of now on the summit. We got out to touch the snow and the wind, if you are in an unprotected area is very strong. My daughters first experience of... More

It was very windy the day I drove up Mt Wellington. It was so windy at the summit that I could to the viewing tower. However despite that the experience is amazing. You can but wonder what the first settlers made of this massive lump. I did manage to get some photos at a lower level. I was amazed at... More
